10 Years of Jive Days 🪴

me and @liightskinjohn started making music together around year 10. he had just learnt to make beats on a ipad mini. our introduction to the grow room was through @waiwhai.ai and my bro @bakedinauckland at the time @e.o_king was living there @og.dusty @ryanhendriks.pdf @melodownz @__muush would all be up in there most days. people would come in and out, chill, smoke, make beats, rap, make tapes ♻️ we'd post up there pretty much anytime we weren't at school. we done our first bunch of shows that year and we pumped out songs until we had enough for a tape. @waiwhai.ai mixed it. @dylanbiscuit shot the cover. @selu376_ and @jasperjohnstone done a video. we put the album out on this day.

one of the things I loved about the grow room was the DIY approach to everything and how the bros would always think outside the box when it came to gigs/music/promoting. I feel blessed to have been around during these years before social media and numbers became what they are today. I miss making a song and dropping it on the same day.

love to everyone who was apart of our story and anyone who still comes up to tell us what this project meant to them. shoutout anyone who still has a cassette aswell ofcourse
