wow! i’ve lived entire lifetimes since this happened but it’s still postworthy nonetheless!
my BFA thesis, Sublimate, found a space to live and breathe. i am so so grateful for everyone who supported me as i navigated the malicious aura of my final months at FIT.
Sublimate is a series of self portraits taken at a macro scale, lit with 2 studio LEDs and printed on 2’x2’ aluminum squares through a dye-sublimation process. it’s about the beauty and sensuality and sublime of living in a transgender body, of embodying my transness, of loving my whole trans self. i love that it’s more representational than any other self-portraits i’ve taken.
i am especially thankful to @sirpluswherehouse / @rockella.space for not only providing a room to install it, but for the opportunity to be in community with such incredible and interesting artists. by @lijahsflix

babys first exhibition— “I Just Want To Make Queer Art Without All This Shit Getting In The Way:” a collection of 94 instax film prints taken with a 4x5 camera, with 8 fabric hangings in front: 5 emails exposing the institutional transphobia i face on a daily basis at The Fashion Institute of Technology, and 3 self portraits with handwritten thoughts/complaints. in order to see the beautiful tender queer love and family that i’ve created, the viewer must physically push through the institutional transphobia i experience on a daily basis.
this was an AWESOME undertaking and i’m so stoked that i managed to make it happen!
photography by me, emails either written by me or professors of mine!
special thanks to @alyssaday124 and @yev.gelman for being my queer family and living with meeeeee, to @bradlydevertreadaway for helping me go a bit crazy, to @dschomia for modeling for me and showing me that queer love is international, and the entire @wearenobodyelsefit class for all the support and good vibes throughout the entire experience. we did a really good job for a class that got royally fucked over by The Institution <3 by @lijahsflix
