Found a smile on SAT but today ended up being a downer for the entire team. Spoiled two AMAZING pitching performances by four kids who laid it on the line. Unfortunately our bats that were awake all summer just took a nap at the wrong time.

Baseball just being baseball.

2026 summer ball is a wrap. Next year is already on my mind.

Family & friends came together for a memorial for my brother who took his own life two months ago. It was soothing to see so many of his friends who i had never met or who i only met once…the stories i was told by his peers and subordinates during his military career made me beam with pride.

He had many BEST FRIENDS who had so many great stories to tell about Shane Lee (Trav,).

“Your brother,” one former soldier under his watch said, “saved my life.”

A drill sergeant he worked alongside on the trail said that he “got them ready to soldier—turned them from boys to men.”

Once military service ends, those men, yesterday’s heroes are often discarded, mostly forgotten by the very government that enlists these volunteers that protect the country.

Mental health is real. Especially for those that served and served under duress—time & time again.

Now, that this has entered my home, my inner circle, i am compelled to reunite with @perrysteed on his @operation_purpose initiative he spearheaded a few years ago.

Coincidentally, Perry served with my brother and lives in Wilmington, NC—so it seems an ideal scenario, although we would have both preferred to have SFC Mellon on staff rather than our North Star.

If you want to lend a hand in some way, please respond. If you don’t have the time, share this message with your network…and/or check in with your friends & family: someone might need to hear a loving voice.

I didn’t call my brother enough.
