William K McGowan Jr. was the most selfless and loving soul you could ever imagine.❤️10/16/1935 - 12/18/2024

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a strong Catholic and walked to church to light a candle for me every single day for over 4 years when I was really sick as a kid. Anyone that has ever met him looks up to him as a mentor and a guiding light on what you aspire to be like when you grow up. He is a miracle in so many ways, and has outlived doctors predictions by 15 years because God was not done with him yet. He was the most determined man and no matter what illness he was fighting, he overcame it even when the odds were 1 and 100. No matter if he was stressed or happy, Grandpa would always made sure I knew how much I was loved and how much he loved everyone in his family. I’m going to miss the smile that he had on his face whenever I would walk in the room and him being my biggest fan every day of my life. I’m going to miss my best friend who would take me to the zoo or museums as a kid when he had so much work he could be doing instead. But most of all I’m going to miss the man that showed me what unconditional love truly means, the man who is so amazing that he should be considered a saint for all of his selfless acts and who always loved everyone just like I picture God would. He built Indianapolis from the ground up and was so inspirational to the community that he had an award named after him that will continue on in his honor (the Bill Mcgowan award)! He also is honored in the Hall of Fame for international business since so many world leaders acknowledged his service to countless communities. I hope to make you proud everyday Grandpa and will be beyond happy if I grow up to become even a small representation of the person we all knew you were!
