From late night shenanigans at Cole's Bar to late night comedy; life comes full circle if you let it 💯

What's your go-to matcha order? 🍵

Fun fact: I prefer my matcha with no milk an Americano if you will + ube banana or jasmine syrup + orange creme foam + crunchy cookie topper lately 🍪

Since editing this I already thought about how I can improve this joke, and that's the fun of comedy you can tinker and do it all over again ❣️

Thanks for rocking with me in the free world 🤟

the Oliver Tree vigil at Laurelhurst Park in Portland was everything he would have wanted 🛴🤍

Weird. Wonderful. Completely unplanned and absolutely perfect 👌

A puppy pug dancing to his songs. Heart warming energy from strangers who just needed to be somewhere together. Gatorade and spicy chips passed around like offerings. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos in Danielle’s hands because it felt right.

People danced. People cried, even Danielle. The people celebrated his life.

Song on recap is Oliver Tree's Cowboys Don’t Cry 🎶

The last line hits different now.

“There’s no easy way to end” 😭

There really isn’t. But Laurelhurst Park on that day came pretty close to getting it right.

Rest in power Oliver Treee 🌲You were unlike anyone. 🤠

Being on first comic on stand up duties can be a challenging daunting task but I prevailed because I am Lilac Starr 💫

With becoming a stand-up comic; surreal is the only word for it. terrifying and electric and proof that sometimes the thing that scares you most is the thing you were built to do 🌟

I'm going to document my journey, and if you're reading this I'm thankful to have you as a day 1 💜 taken in Helium Comedy Club - Portland by @lilacstarrcomedy

Seven weeks of stand-up classes. 🎭
One student showcase. 🎤
Two once very nervous people who pulled it off like pros.

We signed up for this cohort on a whim, not knowing what was ahead. Turns out? We can actually tell a joke on stage.
The audience laughed, Lilac even recieved roars 🦁

Doing scary new things with your person hits different.
We learned, we 💣d in our first in practice, we got back up, and last night we performed for lots of friends and family & randos!

First show down. Already want to do it again. 🎤💙

Caught fellow Chicago comic Chris Higgins here in Portland at Helium Comedy Club recently and shared how I have embarked on my own stand-up comedy journey 😆

Chris was super kind & awesome❣️ I got this signed poster from him at the end; he was so sweet and included, "Danielle! Crush your show!" This was before @lilacstarrcomedy was birthed into the scene, but we out here n ready for our show next week 🙈

Thank you for being rad @mybudchris 🫶 everyone else check out his Don't Tell Comedy special on YouTube if you haven't already⁉️ Caught fellow Chicago comic Chris Higgins here in Portland at Helium Comedy Club recently and shared how I not only have embarked on my own stand-up comedy journey, but I too was going to be performing on the stage at the Neon Room where he had just performed 🫠
