Allow me to reintroduce myself… Miss. Rashaye Young, M.S.

I could write a sob story about how I cried everyday in this program, tried to drop out my first semester and how I sent emails like a hell raiser about my dissertations not being approved. I was told “no” so many times and my daddy ALWAYS taught me to never let anybody tell you no and don’t let anybody take anything away from you. I refused to hear it wasn’t my time but now I understand that God is an ON TIME God. NOW is MY time! I’m just thankful for the journey! Thankful for how the program molded me into being STRONG, CONFIDENT AND ARROGANT ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT HAS MY NAME ATTACHED TO IT! We are now published and copyrighted🎉

•Among Black students in higher education, women are more likely than men to earn degrees: Black women get 64.1% of bachelor’s degrees, 71.5% of master’s degrees, 9% Black African American woman and 65.9%of doctoral, medical, and dental degrees.

•4.4% of doctoral degrees are earned by Black women. This statistic alone makes the story of Trina and Tina important for those seeking a Ph. D., and those aiming to support Black women as they pursue this important goal.

Oh, to be a dreamer.

I’ve been praying more, fasting more, and writing down my goals for what feels like forever. Looking back and seeing those check marks from the last few years has reminded me that I’m a true believer in this when I say, “I’ma go get that,” I really do.

I love disappearing every now and then when life gets heavy or when my MacBook decides to delete a paper I forgot to save😅 But every time I pop back out, every weekend I get to enjoy, reminds me that through it all, I deserve everything I’m receiving.

A special thank you to Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V because my fingers are tired… but the work isn’t done yet.

For now though… let’s ride. 🙂‍↔️✨

My daily appearance is not just style, it’s structure. It’s discipline meeting confidence. It’s understanding that how I carry myself reflects the standards I’ve set for my life. The season of being overlooked is over. Like always, I’ll use every setback as a stepping stone. I’m going after everything I deserve, and I’m walking into everything I’ve prayed for night after night. What’s meant for me won’t miss me. This season is different.
