Dear Damascus,Little did I know that a week long summer camp each year would slowly and completely transform my life. Since sixth grade, I’ve come to this camp filled with wild adventures and unreal stories, but more importantly, a community rooted in Jesus.Over the years, the Damascus community has shown me who Jesus truly is. He’s the King of Kings who selflessly gave His life to bear my sins, so I could live a life I don’t deserve. A life lived for Him.There’s a peace and joy in every person I’ve encountered at camp, especially the lifelong friends who continue to inspire me and strengthen my faith everyday at back home. I’m endlessly grateful for each of them. As my time as a camper comes to the hardest end, from the bottom of my heart, thank you Damascus for genuinely making me the person I am today. Thank you for showing me what it means to be Catholic. Through camp I’ve discover the most important thing in life. Actually, the most important person in life: Jesus. Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure, and I can testify to that!Jesus you have changed my life and you have my fiat always. by @lilianamchugh
