Hello 😇 I’m Georgia and I thought I would do just a little re-introduction to my page now that I am posting more regularly after my long hiatus. Here are the main things you need to know about me to figure out if we are going to get along:

🌟I turned 30 this year and I love it. You couldn’t pay me to be in my 20’s again, with so much uncertainty, angst and confusion. Admittedly it was punctuated by a worldwide pandemic so that might have impacted things a tad.
🌟Speaking of the pandemic - that’s when I started this page. I was living at home again after university and some time living abroad, worked part time in retail and needed a creative and social outlet so started sharing my love for second hand and vintage fashion. I had so much fun and even dipped my toe into selling vintage myself. I absolutely loved finding really special pieces and seeing them be loved and worn again.
🌟I am still obsessed with vintage fashion and second hand shopping of all kinds. I literally can’t be stopped, I am obsessed with clothes and have a deep appreciation for fabrics, designs, details, labels, ribbons and all that good stuff.
🌟I love my hometown and am so glad that I ended up back here. I spend a lot of my time trying to capture it’s beauty in images and videos so you will see lots of pictures of flowers and hillsides.
🌟I got engaged a month or so ago and am already loving my colourful, vintage style, English country garden wedding. I’m currently searching for a photographer to make my film camera, casual, dreamy, summer vision come to life.
🌟I have struggled with mental illness throughout my life but don’t talk about it that much. However, having recently been made quite well again by my therapist maybe I will be more open about it. I know how much I have been helped by the stories of others in times of need.

Closet clear out after weight gain: part 9… dresses!! 👄

Dresses are my favourite thing to thrift so there are quite a few of them to wade through

But to be honest all of these are nice and I do wear most of them so not much went into the Vinted pile this time

I have quite stringent requirements when it comes to dresses I find comfortable so when I do find them I stick to the formula

Which unfortunately means that I end up with a few that occupy the same space in my wardrobe

But I don’t think it’s a problem - I’ve found what works for me and I’m sticking with it

To please me dresses must:

🌼 be in a natural fabric
🌼 not be too tight anywhere
🌼 not need adjusting throughout the day
🌼 not require special underwear
🌼 not have spaghetti straps
🌼 probaly more that I can’t think of right now

I also tend to look for classic silhouettes as I find this easier to style and helps me not feel too dressed up

How to find your dream vintage wedding dress online: final part! 🤍🧁

Gosh do I spill the tea in this one, and please accept my apologies I did have some fizzy water so I did have to cut out quite a lot of burps

But yes, by this time I had talked for about 10 mins so I was really in my flow, being honest, speaking my truth and spilling the tea for all to see

I talk about pulling yourself together a bit, and not being so precious if you find an amazing dress and it’s a little imperfect don’t cross over the road

Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater, open your mind to how it could be cleaned, edited or mended

Or maybe just be ok with walking down the isle in something with a little imperfection

Becuase isn’t that all of us anyway am I rite

You also need to get to know what fabrics you like, there might be some terms you haven’t heard before so study up

Another thing I like to do is touch lots of clothes in charity shops and try loads on so I get to know the feel and wearability of different fabrics

How to find your dream vintage wedding dress online: part 3 🤍🤍

Ok so in the first two parts I went through some amazing vintage bridal brands to shop

And in the second video I gave you some tips on where to start with the search

In this part i ramble on as usual but if you sit through it and listen to me I do get on to some interesting points

I talk about finding what words and brands to search, how to make sure you bag the best bargains before everyone else and which measurements you will need to make sure it actually fits when it shows up

If you have any tips from your own experience then please share them!

The vintage world can be a bit scary and unwelcoming to newcomers so I’d really like this to be a positive space 🤍

How to find your dream vintage wedding dress: part two 🤍🦋

The hard way!💪

This video is for people who want to inside tips on how to scour the internet for your dream dress

If you are the type to obsess over vintage dresses, scroll for hours and have the *vision* for vintage

In this video I use my top class credentials as a vintage bride, vintage obsessive and former vintage seller to go into some of the tactics I use when looking online for special vintage

I start by just giving you a place to start and, apologies if I am preaching to the converted here, I just wanted to give those who have no experience a jumping off point

I tell you the best apps to use, give you some of the best keywords and brands to find a dress like mine and explain the painstaking process of stalking the internet for bridal bliss

I rambled on for ages about this so consider this an introduction and the next two parts will go into the rest of my top tips

But I don’t call it the hard way for nothing, you better work beach if you want to find the one nowadays so make sure to study my process, take notes, save this for later and follow to see the rest of the series

Also! Just if this is the first video of mine you’ve seen I previously did one where I spoke about the best brands to get vintage wedding dresses online

I also just post mostly about being in my 30s, gaining weight and styling and loving my wardrobe sustainably through that

But I recently had my dream wedding with a bespoke, 1980s raw silk dress so i am eeking out my bridal era

During this class you will get an introduction to portrait art. Using a life model, Georgia will take you through how to sketch faces.

When it comes to art, faces often seem to be the most elusive aspect of the portrait. Using pencils and charcoal this session will cover the basics to get you drawing people.

No experience needed all materials and model provided.

Help I have a wedding on Saturday and I don’t have an outfit!

The pink corset I was going to wear with a pink skirt will not be delivered in time so I am considering what skirt I can wear with this turquoise and sparkly Y2K Jane Normal corset

As I have been now been released from my bridal era I must again become accustomed to wearing colour

But I can’t get my brain around not wearing a monochrome look when it’s a corset and a skirt??

Is it ok to wear different coloured separates to a wedding or am I going to have to return to Vinted to search for another pink corset ???

In other news there is no other news

I’ve dragged myself back to work and am somewhat feeling the wedding blues

I haven’t had the energy to do either of the things I said I would do when I had brain space back from the wedding (driving lessons and art)

But I am heading back to Norway on Friday for said family wedding and a trip to a friends mountain cabin

So hopefully I will be revived by partying and a Scandi summer and have some energy to pick up the extra bits and bobs I need to get on with

How to find your dream vintage wedding dress: part 1

The ‘easy’ way 👰🏻‍♀️🤍🕯️🧁

So this is the first in my series about finding your perfect vintage wedding dress

Focussing on some amazing places that have done all the searching, repairing, cleaning, presenting and everything that a vintage dress might need for you

For this you may need a little more budget (but not always) but you can get that more traditional “bridal try on experience”

In the next episodes I will go more into how find a dress like this yourself through less traditional means, what keywords to search for and a few insider tips from someone who has dabbled in sourcing vintage

Giving away my wedding dress! 👰🏻‍♀️ 🆓

I accidentally thrifted too close to the sun and panic bought a second dress in the lead up to my wedding

Which meant I had a really hard time choosing between them!

The dress is a silk dupon 1980s Princess Diana stunner with a basque waist, off the shoulder sleeves adorned with bows and tiny roses

She really couldn’t be more perfect, and when I first put her on I was sure she would be the dress I wore at my wedding

I was having second thoughts about my dress because it needed some changes to become my perfect dress (see previous video!)

And I was afraid I would be left dress - less on my wedding day

Thankfully the original dress I chose ended up being perfect but it meant that this one never got to be worn again

So I would really love her to go to a bride who is searching for this kind of thing and doesn’t have the budget to go to a boutique- please only request the dress if it is genuinely for your wedding!

I can only post to the UK and I am happy to send measurements if needed

So if you are searching for your perfect, vintage wedding dress for a wimsical princess wedding this could be it!

How I created my dream wedding dress 🌷👰🏻‍♀️

This was quite a journey from finding the dress on @ebay (let me know if you want a separate video about that process!)

To taking her to the dry cleaners (slightly unsuccessfully)

To having some modifications done to this 100% silk vintage dress (something I never thought I would do)

I decided that this dress did need some modifications as it was too big for me so it was always going to need to go to the tailor

And it was also quite stained so I questioned whether any other bride would be willing to walk down the aisle in her

I am usually against modernising vintage dresses but as long as the original character is kept or it is to repair the dress then I think it’s ok

It makes me cringe when beautiful old dresses have all their vintage features stripped from them

But I think I made the right choices here - do you??

My dream come true 🤍🌷🌟👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏼‍♂️

Basically still too overwhelmed to write a proper caption just just want to share these photos

Across the weekend so so many amazing people took time out of their lives, traveled across oceans, moved tables and chairs, washed hundreds of dishes to celebrate us

It means so much 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

So many people too thank firstly our amazing family and friends that helped us bring our wedding dreams to life

My cousin Angus who was toast master and Aunt Cath who led the ceremony

My sister and brother for stepping up and doing anything needed from coordination to teas and coffees

My parents (@sandmade_eco and @bobmalvernlink ) for making bunting, sourcing the vintage glasses and plates and so much more

Theo’s family for making the trip from Norway and creating some beautiful decorations and putting serious legwork into the setup and cleanup 🤍

My amazing friends @issyrock for planning me the most perfect hen do and @imogenquilley for making my wedding cake dreams come true

Guests who brought the dance floor to life, laughed with us and made us feel so loved and special all day

Celebrating mine and Theo’s relationship and doing this with him is my dream come true - he is my gift and my everything so having a whole day dedicated to all he has given me was just perfect
