Welll, I don’t know if I’ve ever done anything I’m more proud of.  . Anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with two things: rock climbing and music. They are my absolute favorite way to interact with the world around me.  .
My New Year’s resolution was to “waste time doing, not thinking” so when I first came up with the idea to film a live concert from a portaledge, I got to work and broke my plan down into tangible steps before my brain had a chance to convince me otherwise.
.
Somehow, this all came together. It’s been one of the most exciting, exhausting, and rewarding things I’ve ever done. I couldn’t be more proud or grateful of the team that made this happen: @amandalipp, @toreyphilipp and @failfalling… I couldn’t have done this without you guys. Some of you may not know this but I have two very separate musical repertoires. I started off as a singer/songwriter on acoustic guitar and morphed into an indie pop music producer; so I’ve got lots of songs written in both categories.

Usually I choose to perform live with my one-woman indie-pop electronic show, but lately I’ve been leaning more into the acoustic songwriting because I feel like my power as a songwriter and singer really shines through there.

But something I’ve been trying to figure out is how I can capture that embodiment and that connection that I have in my acoustic music, in my electronic pop performances.

You see, when I play just me and my guitar, my voice is in charge and I can reallllyyyyy lean into my storytelling. But with my electronic set, my voice is caged in (to the beat) and has to compete with all the other sounds. Essentially it shines through less.

So, I’ve been on a quest to try to blend these worlds more, and to bring the live, intimate essence of my acoustic performances to my electronic music, and bring some more energy and power of my electronic performances to my acoustic set as well.

This past weekend at the Rhinestone Rodeo I experimented with something new: live drum looping + electric guitar and had SO much fun. I hope it strikes a nice balance between the acoustic and the electronic. This approach cool because my voice is still the center of attention, but I also have got a beat to keep people groovin’.

Really excited to explore this style of performance, and I hope you get to see it live some time soon!! I’m back from lots of travels and excited to get back to setting up more shows in LA, so if you wanna set up a show with me let’s do it!!

Hello this is a girl who is SITTING ON AN ALBUM OF MASTERS!!!! A new album that is getting ready to make its way to you!!!! A full album that I wrote and produced and mixed and love the shit out of!!!

I’ve been creating these songs in fits and pieces over the last 3 (5?! 7!!?) years and I can’t WAIT to share.

Sometimes I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing and I wonder if I’m really a musician, but then the songs just keep coming and keep coming and keep coming in different forms all the time and it reminds me that no matter if I’m writing on my guitar or on my computer or in the air I am a songwriter by nature.

Every time a song comes I feel reassured, grateful the supply hasn’t run out.
