to mama Sarah, they say to give credit where credit is due, so therefore i want to thank my mother, for always seeing the best in me even when our viewpoints miss each other. i hope my mother knows how grateful i am for the phone calls, hugs and GUIDANCE, for how safe it feels to be around her even when we sit in silence. i hope my mother knows how much i reminisce about our takeaway nights when you finally got sober and dad was taking care of me, and now nights dancing in the kitchen, how thankful i am that when i’ve needed her she’s always been there to listen. i hope she knows how blessed i feel that i can trust her to show up, to never have to question how much she cares or her love. i hope my mother knows how much i appreciate her patience when we try to make the pieces fit and how sorry i am for the teenage years full of days where i didn’t show it. i hope my mother knows that she’s brought calm to storms she doesn’t even know about, that she’s taught me lessons and effort in ways that i can’t live without. i hope she knows i see her progress, that i am proud of her for healing. i hope she knows that i see her sacrifice and it is because of her, that i have a future worth believing in. i hope my mother knows that without her, my dreams would have never stood a chance, and i hope my mother knows that she is the reason that i have grown to be the person that i am. #sober11years #mama #love #instagram #likeforlike #goddoeshiswork #thankful #newpost #summer taken in Minnesota by @lilliansamuelson2
