hi! this isn’t my usual post, but i wanted to share a part of my life that might otherwise go unnoticed.

i was diagnosed last year with FND (functional neurological disorder), and it’s changed my life in ways i still can’t fully describe.

there were times my body didn’t feel like mine countless seizures, paralysis, pain, confusion, and days where even getting out of bed felt like too much. i missed school, volleyball, and so many moments i wish i could’ve been there for.

it felt like everything was being taken from me.

but it gave me so much back.

I learned to be patient with myself and be grateful for every moment, it forced me to slow down and appreciate things i used to overlook. But most importantly it also brought me closer to my family, friends, coaches, teammates. It also introduced me to an amazing care team, and strangers in waiting rooms who somehow understood me in ways no one else could; and i’m grateful every day for that

happy FND awareness day :) 🧡
