If you know me just a little, you know that when I do something I give it my all. Nursing has been a passion for me for years now. When I took the step to get my CNA spring semester of senior year, and then within my first semester of college I applied and stepped foot at 18 into Self Regional as a tech. I go in and provide the best care I can on days that I didn’t want to show up, I had too much on my plate that week, and so many more excuses. The truth is I showed up because I love what I do in this transition and season of my life in Nursing School.

Today I was awarded the BEE award which is equivalent to the Daisy but for other hospital staff positions. I want to thank every single person that pushes me to be the best version of myself. Most importantly God giving me the heart that I have, My parents who make it possible to live at college and support me through each step, all of my family and friends that never fail to show me a support system, my co workers that some have become my best friends, and patients that I have made a connection with just to help them get by with their stay. A HUGE THANK YOU to Self Regional for believing in me, and trusting me to work for them. It is an honor to even be nominated for this award and even more an honor to receive the award. June is Scoliosis Awareness Month 💚

When I was 13 years old, I was diagnosed with scoliosis and eventually had to undergo surgery at 15. At that age, it was scary and overwhelming, and there were so many unknowns. I remember the appointments, the recovery, and all the emotions that came with navigating something so big at such a young age.

Looking back, that experience became a huge part of who I am. It taught me resilience, patience, and strength in ways I couldn’t have understood at the time. While it wasn’t an easy journey, it’s one that shaped me and gave me a deeper appreciation for what our bodies can endure and overcome.
