Both Lilly and I would like to extend our gratitude to all those who participated in Art BBQ last year, our first debut group show, we were absolutely honoured by the support, positivity and the generosity of all the artists involved. I would also like to thank Katie (director @studio44ad ) who gave us the space and opportunity to launch Chip In and our curatorial journey with community at its heart. Spanning over two rooms at 44AD Artspace ( @studio44AD ) in the ground floor gallery, ‘Art BBQ’ honoured community, connections and the joy of gathering, through an installation that celebrates emerging artists. “The art world can be isolating, competitive and difficult to navigate, particularly when you’re emerging and starting out. Opportunities can feel scarce, knowledge can feel inaccessible and elitist, and the informal conversations that once happened naturally in art school can disappear overnight. That’s why we need to keep building our own communities.” - @portfolio.milly — New piece of writing on our substack 💗 📸: @ashley_cerrino_studio_gallery by @lillyamber_art

‘Never within Reach’, Wool, Clay & Wire, 2026 Fabricated by the amazing @lillyamber_art 🩷 —— There is a peculiar magnetism to the British seaside, found not only in the salt air but in a nostalgia that feels both collective and deeply personal. It is a place defined by its simple pleasures and quiet. These moments form a lasting connection to the seaside as a place suspended between comfort and contradiction. Growing up on the coast has shaped a life attuned to its rituals, from slow, wandering days along the shoreline to winter mornings spent watching my mum slip into the freezing sea. It is a place defined by its simple pleasures and quiet absurdities: fish and chips doused in vinegar, sugar-dusted doughnuts in crinkled paper bags, and pastel clouds of candy floss that cling to your fingertips. A coastal town’s beauty lies as much in its eccentric artifice as in its natural charm, from the fading grandeur of the pier to the riot of neon lights and the hum of arcade machines over carpets dusted with sand. Even the gift shops, packed with half-forgotten essentials, embody a kind of magic in their kitsch. This body of work explores the emotional texture of these spaces, where joy exists alongside a softer melancholy. The seaside was once a place of unfiltered wonder for me, a site of childhood freedom and delight. Now, as an adult, that same environment carries a quiet weight: a recognition of how those early sensations of pleasure and escape intersect with the realities of addiction, repetition, and longing. —— For Ways Below, @openschooleast , June 2026🍦curated by @harunishere thank you to everyone at OSE for your support Polly, @georgehardiing , Fiona and @katcutmac 💞 and my amazing mentors Sally O’Reilly @manfredopenarms and Simeon Barclay ( @_workplace_ ) for helping and encouraging me with my art practice 🫶🏻 📸: @lillyamber_art by @lillyamber_art
