"Look to God and live."

my testimony of prophets and apostles, of the revelation they receive, and of the power that comes from being in the room of such faith building testimonies has grown over the past couple years. being able to attend conference in person, there's nothing like it. grateful for faithful examples in my life. grateful to be a member of this true church. grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ that brings renewal and understanding in any season of life no matter how imperfect I am. Pacific Island Research Internship: Tonga & New Zealand 🇹🇴🇳🇿

reflecting on this trip as cliché as it sounds, this experience was life-changing. there aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am to have done this in my undergrad.

I’ve lived in and have been back to Tonga multiple times.
I served part of my mission in New Zealand and have also been back since.

this time, it was different.

to conduct Alzheimer’s research among native Pacific populations in Tonga
to re-learn and be educated on Māori traditions and customs
to witness the beauty of both nations
to come back and serve
to be surrounded by like-minded people
to be one with God’s creations on the other side of the world
to witness so many tender mercies
to empower people, especially kids who look like me
to reconnect with my roots and heritage

I dreamt of an experience like this as a little girl. this internship was everything I could have hoped for and more. it was empowering.
God really is aware of each and every one of us.

I’ll be back to serve
somehow,
in some capacity,
one day.

"You must get all of the education that you possibly can. It is your obligation. It will enlarge your life and increase your opportunities. It will provide you with skills in case you need them."
- Gordon B. Hinckley
