process and meaning behind this one was all about trying not to be too attached to an outcome and to be present in the adventure of the experience.. becoming okay with a feeling of groundlessness. i kept layering and playing with brushstrokes, images, and shapes until i got somewhere i liked. ive been working hard trying to strike a balance between realistic form and abstraction to create that sense of figurative expressionism. i'm excited to do more like this by @lilpeystudio

had a lot of fun painting this one. finally upgraded my paints and made the big boy move to oils. wow it's awesome. this is emily, my 89 year old landlady with her little chihuahua bella, enjoying the late afternoon sun in her favorite reading chair in her lovely home nestled up in the berkeley hills 🌲 by @lilpeystudio
