Is it possible to truly appreciate happiness without sadness? Or the warm sunlight without the bitter cold?

@chaudharijuhi ‘s painting captures the idea that we can embrace the ups and downs of life, and that all of our experiences can create something beautiful if we hold them in understanding and compassion.

“My Pain, My Joy” is a song inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh’s poem, “Please Call Me By My True Names.” @plumvillagefrance @thichnhathanh by @lilshudo

Huge thanks to my friends at @oil.lantern.studios for the beautiful video.

Special shout out to @chaudharijuhi for the one-take painting session!

Joyful Jam is a place to make music in community, to have fun, and to let go of the pressure of playing “perfectly” (if there ever was such a thing!).

Super grateful that @common_st_center is the first home for the event, and for everyone who made the July jam so special 🫶🏼

Our next one is this Friday Aug 21, 7pm. This month’s theme is “peace.” Feel free to bring a song with lyric or chord sheets to share, and a friend ☺️

We hope you’ll (joyful) jam w us 🎻 by @lilshudo
