April 17th was the day my heart completely shattered. The day I lost my best friend. My dad was my hero who would drop everything and anything to make sure that I was taken care of, no matter the battles he was going through himself. He taught me how to find the good in every situation thrown at you. He put up the best fight in the whole world, and I just so wish that was enough. I would do anything in this world just to be with you again. Thank you for being the most amazing dad I could’ve asked for, and for all the lessons you taught me. I could go on and on about all the things I miss about you. Over the past year, I’ve learned that missing you isn’t something that fades, it becomes a part of who I am. Even though it hurts, it also reminds me every single day how lucky I am to be your daughter. You are the definition of the perfect dad. My real life superhero and I will always be so grateful I got to call you my dad.

To my friends who have been there for me and carried me through the days I didn’t think I could get through… thank you will never be enough. You’ve held me together when I felt like I was falling apart, and I am endlessly grateful for you.

There’s so much I can’t wait to tell you about. I still catch myself going to text or call you whenever something important happens… and part of me hopes I will always do this. I wish more than anything I could have one more hug from you. I will miss you for the rest of my life dad. My grocery store and errand running best friend forever.

A piece of me will always feel broken knowing I have to live the rest of my life without you. But until the day I see you again, I will live for you and carry your love with me in everything I do. I love you and miss you with every inch of my heart 🪽😇🩵🕊️ by @lily.denk
