🌯Fanime🌯⠀ Just look at my smol cute guardian @jinglebooboo (I’m taller with the ears so it counts) 🥺💘✨ She is radiant!!! She is my rock when I am a wobbly bird. ⠀ ⠀ I absolutely flew too close to the sun with this costume 🫠 A few ill fitting pieces and attempting to walk on uneven ground in those heels was OOF. It made it very hard to participate in the con, so I’m sorry to all I missed seeing! ⠀ ⠀ But like everything in life, it’s friendship that makes everything worth it. Seriously, Fanime is a great con, but it’s the fact that my friends are there that makes it the best con of the year. 💫Star Guardians💫 ⠀ Ok but these costumes just SING in the sunlight ✨ Between this crazy holo white rainbow spandex and the absolutely jaw-dropping gems @jinglebooboo made for us, we are bringing the magic. ⠀ ⠀ Thanks to @bearphotobuffalo for shooting us, and @jobielee being the VIP of posing and direction for the shoot 👏 Having seen a sneak peak, I’m way excited to share the results of this shoot with everyone 🤩⠀ ⠀ The duality of Xayah’s darker colors against Kai’sa’s brighter ones is so cool as a duo shoot! 🌯Fanime🌯 ⠀ Had a riot of a good time cosplaying Eruka Frog from Soul Eater at Fanime this year! ⠀ ⠀ Getting to be spooky scary witches with @hello.dw was a blast! She’s so good at posing and embodying the character. I don’t know if I was trembling with fear or swooning (itwasswooning) ⠀ ⠀ @woodwarder_ always brings the energy to any cosplay I do with him, but Stein was a cut above. His screw moves and makes noise! ⠀ ⠀ The photos we’re gonna get back from @fiveringsphoto and @togglephotography are gonna be fire 🖤👌✨ ⠀ ⠀ This costume is now a top level comfy and SUPER cute cosplay for me. ▶️01 Day◀️ ⠀ I have made it to 🌯Fanime🌯! ⠀ What a long and arduous race to the end this has been. I don’t think I’ve con crunched like this in years, and I am so happy to be done and here 😴 ⠀ ⠀ Thank you for the outpouring of support on my countdown posts! ▶️03 Days◀️ ⠀ I am so happy with these! 🤩 It was a total risk to try and make these big ears out of wefts instead of faux fur but they look great! Perhaps a tad bigger than needed due to the internal structure, but for my first time thing this technique, I’m thrilled. ⠀ ⠀ I crimped an extra set of wefts, and turned them into glued wefts using Pattex Contact Glue. I painted the foam core pink and purple to help it blend in once the wefts were put on. I glued long purple wefts on first, then layered on the long pink ones. ⠀ ⠀ Once the ears were the huge hairy mess, I attached them to the attachment structure. Hanging them upside down let gravity do most of the work for me. ▶️04 Days◀️ ⠀ Ok, I hated these right up until the very last detail. Stretch really doesn’t look good until the very end and that stresses me out. 😬 ⠀ ⠀ These are just spandex with a bit of interfacing at the ankles. The gold is attached via Wonder Under and top stitching. The front diamond was stitched separately and attached via Wonder Under. The whole cover was glued to the base of the shoe and has a small piece of craft foam at the toe to act as a sole. ⠀ ⠀ These still need the cute little toes and side feather, but they’re drying after being painted. ⠀ ⠀ +++++++ ⠀ #LBCFanime30 #Fanime #Countdown #LeagueOfLegends #StarGuardian #Xayah #XayahCosplay A collage. ▶️05 Days◀️ ⠀ ❇️Wings Complete*❇️ ⠀ I got the wing harness all set up! This is going to be worn under my top, and the back buckles peek out of a horizontal seam in the top. This allows the weight to be distributed nicely, and I can clip in and out really fast. ⠀ The harness was made out of 1” twill tape, with cross sections in front and back to stabilize it. It has 3 buckles: 2 for the wings and 1 to close me in. ⠀ ⠀ I finished applying gold edging to the top wings, then sewed them to the bottom wings and put a quick little twill casing around the top so I had a cleaner edge to stitch the buckles to. ⠀ ⠀ *The wings are completed for this con, but I didn’t get to embellish them like I had originally planned (vinyl stars, gems, glitter) and the bottom wings are missing the gold details. ▶️06 Days◀️ ⠀ I made really great progress on the wings today! Toggle helped me cut off all of the spoonflower fabric pieces, then I sewed them all up before flipping them right side out. ⠀ ⠀ The top feathers each got a piece of craft foam put in them, and their gold pieces are cut out and ready to be ironed on. ⠀ The bottom feathers are just fabric. The fabric really likes gripping onto the craft foam and with the different angles and points it just made it too difficult to accomplish. 07 Days◀️ ⠀ This is my last weekend before the con and I really have to give it my all to finish this costume. Good vibes are welcomed ✌️✨ ⠀ ⠀ I’ve got kind of a mishmash going on, but the most exciting this is that my custom wing fabric from @spoonflower has arrived! I got both sets of wings printed on their Organic Cotton Sateen and the colors are perfect. ▶️08 Days◀️ ⠀ ❇️1 Glove Complete❇️ ⠀ I thought a glove with only one finger would be easier but I was wrong 🫠 ⠀ ⠀ I am over the moon though with how the different textures look on this piece! Thanks to @slaahv for helping me find the most spot-on teal HTV! ⠀ ⠀ I think it’s good enough to go to con, but there are some major fit issues, and I should have interfaced a lot more than I did. ▶️09 Days◀️ ⠀ ❇️Shawl + Stole Complete❇️ ⠀ Wahoo! Another piece completed! With all the layers it looks cooler than I thought it would. ⠀ ⠀ Pretty straight forward with this construction, though I did change up the gold method a bit, I just needed to save bulk in the seams so wrapping it over was the better option than sandwiching it. ⠀ ⠀ For the fur stole, I couldn’t find fur in this specific shade but I knew I could find yarn! Using the yarn tail method (knotting small pieces of yarn and brushing them out) I started this and @hello.dw came to my rescue and finished it for me so I could save some time! 🥰⠀ ⠀ +++++++ ⠀ #LBCFanime30 #Fanime #Countdown #LeagueOfLegends #StarGuardian #Xayah #XayahCosplay A collage.
