🌟 Lily Laight’s Ambassador Journey 🌟 From Devon, Lily was a pupil of @totnesschoolofdance. She competed in her first AED Final at the age of seven, winning a Gold and Silver medal for her Song & Dance and Character solos, choreographed by the late Pamela de Waal 💜 In 2011, Lily was cast as Amanda Thripp in the original West End production of Matilda, and was always in a mad dash across London from rehearsal to compete at the Finals that year - you would usually find Lily doing her hair and makeup on the tube 🤩 Lily expanded her career making appearances in Film and TV, having leading roles in Doc Martin, Love Rosie, In Secret, Frequencies, The Comic Strip and the film adaption of Les Miserablés 👏 Lily’s last AED Finals took place in 2019, as the ‘fouetté girl’ in the Totnes School of Dance’s Gold medal winning Ballet Group and Gold medal winning Musical Theatre Group ‘42nd Street’ 👯‍♂️ Six weeks later, at seventeen years old, Lily was cast as Lou Ann in the 2020 Lond Coliseum Revival of Hairspray! Since then, Lily has performed in ‘Gypsy’ at the Alexandra Palace, ‘Dirty Dancing’ at the Dominion and was one of the featured Barbies in the ‘Barbie Movie’ 🎭 Lily is about to start rehearsals for an exciting brand new Musical, ‘The Artist’ @mconiecompany @drew_mconie 💜 Lily says ‘I have always loved performing and knew from a very early age that I wanted to do this as a career. My mother, grandmother and great grandmother all competed in AED and I know the competition hugely contributed to my development throughout my childhood, providing a prestigious goal to work towards 🥰 Coming together with other motivated and hard working performers from all over the country gave us all an opportunity to strive to be the best we could be in a friendly and supportive environment. To receive critique and guidance from top industry professionals was a truly valuable experience which really helped me to develop my skills onstage’ 🌟 We love your involvement and life long dedication to AED Lily - you continue to go from strength to strength and we are so proud of you! 👏 #AED #AllEnglandDance #Ambassador #successstory #inspirational by @lilylaight
