“I don’t really make clothes for everyone.” For Paris-based designer @mayaklingelschmidt, fashion exists somewhere between glamour and decay, beauty and discomfort, the familiar and the uncanny. From sculptural experiments in unconventional materials to custom stagewear for @pinkpantheress, @cobrah and @deathbyromy, her practice embraces the strange, excessive and unapologetically individual. We spoke with Klingelschmidt about cinematic influences, instinctive construction and designing for those unafraid to stand apart. Read the full interview at LIMINUL. Link in bio. The last analogue decade unfolds through @xmadmx photographs of the ’90s alternative-rock scene in the Art Gallery of Ontario’s latest exhibition: Melissa Auf der Maur: My ‘90s Rock Photographs. On September 24, that history is translated into the sartorial present with DIVA, an installation conceived and styled by @youthin.asia for AGO Art Bash 2026. Inspired by a photograph taken by Auf der Mar of Courtney Love with “DIVA” scrawled across her stomach, the installation brings together Canadian fashion designers through the punk spirit of Hole and Auf der Maur’s creative archive. Ahead of Art Bash, LIMINUL imagined DIVA’s mannequins coming to life inside the AGO. Inside Blue 47, for SS27 @reneenewyork transforms the electric blue of Barbicide into a portal for reinvention, weaving together Black salon culture, braided construction and hallucinogenic futurism. Photography by @bridgetyassme. Read the full story at the link in bio. 🔗 by @liminul
For THE SPECTATOR, @uniform_____ turns the gaze back on itself. @betsyjohnson_ transforms the runway into a British polling station, collapsing the distance between spectator and subject, observation and participation. Anonymous figures move through bureaucratic ritual as the show asks who is watching, and who, within the systems they inhabit, actually holds control. THE SPECTATOR, UNIFORM by Betsy Johnson. Backstage at @alexandermcqueen SS27, Sean McGirr’s world comes into focus through icy colour, bruised pastels and an almost extraterrestrial beauty language. Makeup by @daniel_s_makeup sharpens the gaze in mint, mauve and acid tones, offset by sleek hair and sculptural adornment.
