I don’t have the words to fully express my gratitude to the @galaxycharitable foundation.

Two young men, Brady Locke and Parker Polk, carried forward a legacy built by the Men of Galaxy, a legacy that began in the 1980s to honor their friend Kirk Goodwin and support his family after his passing.

Decades later, that same legacy brought an entire community together to show up for mine.

Words will never feel like enough, but still, thank you.

And if you’re ever questioning whether you matter… you do.

This past year has been one of the darkest and most challenging seasons of my life — and yet, I’m deeply grateful for it. Through the pain, I uncovered a joy I’d never known before — one that runs deep and true.

All I wanted was to dance again. What I found was joy — and healing — in the process.

Before my most recent diagnosis, my family and I lived life to the fullest. Despite already managing lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, my husband, Regi, and I were committed to living boldly and without limits. We loved going to concerts, traveling, hiking, trying new foods, and taking our high-energy four-year-old along for all of our adventures.

This new diagnosis has understandably forced us to slow down and reassess. But with time, we’re eager to get back out there. I’m curious to see what our ‘new normal’ will look like, but I’m hopeful. I believe we can find ways to integrate the things we once loved while showing our child that even in the face of challenges, there’s always room for joy.
