WELCOME TO HOLLYWOOD (3/4) Originally scheduled for early January, this editorial was postponed as the Los Angeles area faced one of the most devastating wildfire seasons in recent history. From January 7 to 31, 2025, 14 destructive wildfires tore through Los Angeles and San Diego counties—driven by drought, dense vegetation, and hurricane-force Santa Ana winds. The fires claimed at least 30 lives, forced over 200,000 evacuations, destroyed more than 18,000 structures, and scorched over 88 square miles. Our hearts remain with everyone affected—friends, neighbors, and the countless Angelenos whose lives were upended.
This story, featuring our friend and model Lina O’Connor, was photographed in November 2024 along Sunset Boulevard, her cherished corner of the city. We spoke with her in early January, just before the fires began. We share this now with deep respect for the resilience of Los Angeles and the people who continue to make it shine through even the darkest seasons.
