Hey y’all 👋 just a little career update…

First two pics is me reenlisting! (March 21st, 2025)

Coming up on August 30th, 2026, I’ll hit my 4-year Navy anniversary, which means my first contract is coming to an end. That alone feels crazy to say… but even crazier knowing I made the decision last March to reenlist for 6 more years.

Honorable mention: I got promoted twice in ONE year… E-4 to E-5 in 2025. That’s something I prayed for, worked for, and pushed myself for every single day.

it definitely wasn’t a normal advancement cycle… waiting on results that kept getting postponed because of the government shutdown had me stressed 😅 but it made that moment even more meaningful when it finally happened.

There were nights I was falling asleep with study material on my bed… mornings waking up right back to it. Studying at the beach, in my room, whenever I could. It wasn’t always easy, but it was always worth it.

I’m truly grateful for every mentor, leader, friend, and family member who supported me and believed in me, even on the days I doubted myself. Making RP2 first round is something I’ll never forget.

And to my junior Sailors.. please hear me when I say this… if I can go up five ranks in my first contract, you absolutely can too!!! Don’t ever tell yourself you can’t do something. Just accept that it’s going to be challenging and keep going anyway.

In regards to the last post, I’m excited to share that I re-enlisted for 6 more years and was also promoted to RP3!!! I’m truly so lucky to have been promoted to what I believe is the best rate in the Navy. This accomplishment means so much to me, and I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported me along the way.

It’s been a journey just getting to this point, especially having gone through RP “A” School to earn this title, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m beyond blessed to have been selected as an RP, and this experience has only strengthened my commitment to serving with honor and dedication.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving and for the amazing people who made this possible. I promise to always be there for the people at my next command in Hawaii, but also for anyone reading this. Your support has been invaluable, and I’ll continue to do my best to give back and serve to the best of my abilities. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

To My Shipmates onboard USS SOMERSET

As I move forward to the next chapter of my career, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude. Serving alongside you through deployment and underways has been an experience I’ll carry with me forever. The bonds we’ve built, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the memories we’ve made will always stay close to my heart.

To my deck family… you were my first home in the Navy, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to learn and grow with. We’ve been through so much together, and nothing has tested us more than the loss of our brother, Olivo. Losing him left a hole that can never truly be filled, but I want you all to know that you are never alone. No matter where I go, I will always be here for you. I chose this path to become an RP so that I could be there for people in their hardest moments, and that will never change. If you ever need someone to talk to, to lean on, or just to listen, I’m only a call away. Please take care of yourselves and each other.

I also want to take a moment to personally thank two incredible mentors who shaped me into the sailor I am today. RP2 Washington, your leadership, guidance, and belief in me pushed me to strive for more. You set the standard, and I am grateful for every lesson you taught me.

And to HM2 Elston, I truly don’t have enough words to express my appreciation. You took me under your wing and helped me become the best version of myself. You saw my potential even when I doubted it, and because of you, I have grown in ways I never imagined. Your mentorship, support, and unwavering encouragement have made all the difference in my journey, and I will always be grateful.

Thank you all for the mentorship, the laughter, the lessons, and the unwavering support. I am honored to have served with you, and I hope our paths cross again. Until then, fair winds and following seas.
