The emotional stuff of Playthings, 2024

Gosh it’s been over a year since this work was exhibited at the @wignallmuseum and I just can’t believe it. I think it’s taken me so long to post about this experience as I’ve always felt it would officially mark the end of this aspect of my time at Chaffey. Doing the Student Invitational was such a big goal for me and the feeling of being past it is very weird if I am being honest. This project consumed me and really allowed me to get in touch with such a different aspect of my artistic practice, I will be forever changed and forever thankful as an artist. I feel very lucky to have worked with the amazing curators and advisors at The Wig to learn first hand what it takes to create a work for a museum from beginning to end. The people I met because of this work, the conversations I shared, and this experience as a whole are things I will carry with me in my heart for the rest of my professional career. If you came and saw this work in person, my gratitude is eternally yours. If you didn’t that’s okay too, there will be many more showings of my work in the near and distant future. I hope you enjoy these pictures from my process. Thank you to everyone for looking at and seeing my art, I hope doing so brings you comfort. by @linayhadoesart
