A couple of Lovebirds 🤍💛 handmade needle felted bird sculptures.
These two have different techniques for beaks/eyes - one has them in needle felted wool and the other has them in hand sculpted and painted clay. But anyways the end result is cute and full of personality 🤗

Handmade and needle felted Lovebird sculpture, recently from my workspace 🤍 This one is having a very calming color palette, don't you think so?! :) I'm always and forever inspired by nature colors, textures, shapes and creatures.

On rare occasions on my workspace the feathered friends are replaced by furry friends 🐾 so this custom made set of needle felted stylized round cat/dog ornaments came to life 🤍

There are only 236 kākāpō living on this Earth today. Those beautiful and unique endangered flightless parrots have catched my eyes and heart a long time ago, so I'm happy every time there is one on my workspace. I've made a kakapo as a sculpture, as an ornament, as well as one of the first mixed media wall art pictures back in 2018 (last photo).

📷 in the photos - recent and not so recent needle felted, handmade Kakapo artworks - all are sold but if you are willing to have yours, let me know in DM or an email and I'll get back to you with ordering info, prices and waiting times.

Wishing you all magical Christmas and a happy, joyful New Year! ❤️
Thank you so much for being part of my artistic journey this year, both online and offline, especially to those who have supported me by ordering my art ❤️

📷 in the photos - Barn Owl / 3D mixed media wall art, made with needle felting, clay sculpting, painting, and embroidery techniques.
I have been slowly working on a small owl artworks collection (in between commissions) that will be available some time in the beginning of the next year. I'll keep you updated :)

This year's Christmas orders 'marathon' over here has come to an end - all orders finished and sent out well in advance to be sure they reach their destination in time for holidays.
In between works I have also gathered almost all Christmas gifts for my dear ones, so I could have time to slow down and enjoy this beautiful time of the year without the rush.
Are you the one who gets everything ready for Christmas early or do you wait till the last minute?! During years I've been on both sides :) but definitely prefer if I manage to be ready for the holiday time early ✨ Anyways - wishing you lovely and magical days of December!

It's all about the details that make up the whole 🤍 Here's a small selection of my felted birds and their close up details.

Through my work I have also learned to see and appreciate more details and nuances of daily life and to notice how they come together to create a bigger picture and even the meaning of an existance. This is one of the many ways how my work and everyday life interact and merge together...
Just some thoughts of today :))

Color palette for the needle felted African Grey ornament 🤍 handmade needle felted stylized wool bird decor designed by me :)

Although I've been working with needle felting 15+ years it still blows my mind when I think of this technique how loose fibers can be made into something sturdy by just poking them with a barbed needle!
Did you know that felting as a craft dates back thousands of years but it refers to wet felting mostly. Needle felting as we know it today has developed only in the last century, in the beginning as an industrial craft and only in 1980's it slowly grew into a decorative and artistic way of 3D sculptures.
