I love tiny, unassuming restaurants with big hearts. @chickenhutdurham 🍗 has been serving soul food plates since 1957. The line on Fridays can start before they open because it’s Oxtail Day! I stood behind a man who said he is in his sixties and has been coming since he was a kid. He said his love for Chicken Hut grew deeper when during the pandemic, Chicken Hut fed the hungry for free 🥰. I mean, they don’t call it soul food for nothing. Have you been? @93banhmi has been on my radar since they first opened in Durham, and I finally made it there thanks to my mom’s birthday lunch request 🎂.I always get the same banh mi every where I go and 93 Banh Mi’s is my new favorite in the area! yooo #artstigators , the fun continues with this week’s takeover, TX-born & NC-based Vietnamese-American Linda Nguyen (she/her), a portrait photographer @curiousnotionsphoto and food/travel content creator @lindaeatsworld -> “Photography allows me to combine two things I love: connecting with people and preserving memories”…. 🔦 🎙️ “After losing my dad in 2019, I realized how few photos I had of him and of us together.That loss changed the way I think about photography. It made me realize what a privilege it is to help people create images that may someday become some of their most treasured possessions.Sometimes I get hired to photograph one person, but if family members are nearby, I’ll almost always invite them into a few frames. If a parent is tagging along to support their child during a senior portrait session, I want them in the photos too. If I’m photographing a family at home and there’s a beloved dog barking from another room, I’ll encourage them to bring the dog out for a few portraits.Those are often the images people end up cherishing most.Photography allows me to combine two things I love: connecting with people and preserving memories.
