I became a runner the day I realized I needed it more than I wanted it.

Let me explain..

There’s no one right way to find your quiet.
Some people get there through silence and through the kind of quiet that only comes when everything stops.

Some of us get there through motion.
Through miles, sweat and rhythm.
It’s a very specific kind of peace that lives on the other side of physical effort.

For a long time, I felt guilty about that.
Like I was bypassing something.
Like I wasn’t doing the real inner work because I couldn’t just sit still and feel it.

BUT movement is the work.
For us, it always has been.

There is something deeply valuable about being a person who knows that their mind quiets when their body moves.
It means you’ve learned yourself.

It means you’ve found your way back.. not despite the hard things, but through them. Literally.

The miles and movement aren’t a distraction from the healing.
For some of us, they are the healing. And that’s okay.

Most of you found me during marathon training..

Some of you found me because I did a Hyrox and a half marathon within 24 hours (yes, that was a choice, and yes we can talk about it).

Either way, figured it was time.

Hi! I’m Lindsay, most call me Linds â˜ș SO glad you’re here.

This looks like a running/fitness page. It’s not.
(I mean, I guess it is but it isn’t. Let me explain)

I started documenting the miles and documenting everything else.
The discipline.
The doubt.
The conversations you have with yourself when things get hard.

That’s what this is really about.

I’m a lot of things
and also not a lot of things YET.

What I didn’t expect along the way.. the people.

Showing up honestly attracted honest people.
The community I’ve found by just being real has
become the best part of all of it.

If movement has ever cracked something open in you..
you’re in the right place.

The right people always find their way here.
Glad you’re one of them đŸ–€

A big double header weekend in Sin City â€ïžâ€đŸ”„

Hyrox Saturday. Half marathon Sunday.
Less than 24 hours apart — and I’d do it all again.

Not for the medals.
Not for the miles.
But for watching the people around me cross finish lines for the very first time. That energy? Unmatched.

Las Vegas showed up this weekend and so did this community.
That’s the only win that mattered.

Congrats to everyone who raced this weekend.
The energy in this city was something else.

I came to celebrate you and somehow left feeling like I could run another one. That’s what this community does. đŸ–€

Not every race gets your best.
For Salt Lake City, I had just enough to start and just enough to finish.

The week before, I decided I was in a place where I could show up. I knew there wouldn’t be 100% to give. But if I showed up with 50%, I was going to give all of that 50%.

Two words kept running through my mind: endure and perspective.

Perspective. Two people can cross the same finish line with the same time and walk away with completely different races. A result only tells you the number, not what it took to get there. Maybe you’ve had a race you’re prouder of than your PR or one that looked great on paper and felt like a battle the whole way. We all carry our own story to the start line and that story is what makes the finish mean something. Comparing mine to someone else’s only takes away from how far I’ve come.

Endure. We sign up for these things to learn more about ourselves when it gets hard. What a beautiful thing to be reminded that enduring hard things can show us such good ones.

This one was progress, mentally. It’s hard to toe the line and hold back. I slowed my runs down BIG time, knowing it was only a matter of when my injury would limit what I could do. I had a few goals going in (most of them about slowing down) and I met them. Proud of that.

The community holds me together, always.
But the energy in SLC was something special.

Salt Lake City, you were cute, thank you.
Onward we go đŸ–€

Respectfully, what you look like might actually be the least interesting thing about you..

I’d rather know the kind of human you are when things get hard.

What a privilege it is to share a room with people who make you want to put the work in @thestripbarbell

@kr_parikhmd thank you SO much for the invite to train with this crew and thank you Coach @schindlerfit for the spicy workout!

Next weekend, Las Vegas shows up for SLC and if there’s one thing this community knows how to do, it’s rally đŸ€˜đŸ»đŸ–€

Who are we seeing compete in SLC?!

From up here, this looks small..
It’s not.

Most days it doesn’t feel like progress.
It feels like the same loop.

You don’t feel like you’re improving because you’re too deep inside it.
Too closeto see the shape of what you’re actually building.
Some days feel harder, not easier, and you start to wonder if any of it is working.

It’s easy to lose the big picture when you’re stuck inside the small one.. the picture where your head is down, watching your feet instead of realizing how far they’ve carried you.

Stack your hard days, but don’t forget to zoom out and realize how far you’ve come.

Forward is forward, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.

Chapter 8 of 12: This is about training.
It’s also not about training at all.

August was hard. The best way to describe it is that my body sent a bill I didn’t see coming and I didn’t have a say in when it was due.

Here’s the thing I’ve learned about resilience.. it’s not built in the moments you’re strong. It’s built in the ones where you have no choice but to adapt.

A missed session is feedback.
A hard month is feedback.
The body (and life) don’t hand you setbacks to punish you. They hand them to you to teach you something you couldn’t learn any other way.

You don’t rebuild a base (physical or otherwise) by rushing back to where you were. You rebuild it by respecting what broke down in the first place.

A busy fall is ahead and instead of bracing for it, I’m falling into myself again. Trusting that everything works out, in due time.

That’s training.
That’s also just life. taken in Canada by @lindsayensing

For the strong ones carrying it all:

We built our worth around what we can handle.
We call it strength.
Sometimes it’s just silence with better posture.

We can be physically strong and mentally drowning at the same time.
We can hold everything and still be quietly disappearing underneath it. Capacity was never proof that we’re okay.

We check heart rates, but yet we don’t check on our hearts.

If this is you or someone you love, you don’t have to carry things quietly đŸ–€ you’re friendly reminder that you are never alone.

You don’t have to be the one racing to learn something from it..

First time pacing someone to help hit their goal time this week and I walked away with more lessons than I expected.

Lessons about trust, mental blocks, what it actually means if we miss a goal and why this community keeps showing up for each other.

Swipe for all 6 đŸ–€

Who needs a pacer?? I’d do it again in a heart beat.

Run to Port Stanley, year two.

I ran this same route last year chasing a PR.
This year I ran it just to feel like myself again and to reflect on the last year.

I needed this run more than I needed a fast one.
So I let go of the pace, my ego and just ran.

We know the Strava overlay tells one story. My elapsed time tells another. Somewhere between the stats and metrics is the honest version of this run.. the version that matters most

I started this run not sure I’d feel like myself again. The last few months have been testing.. the injury, the burnout, the stretch where I didn’t recognize myself as a runner at all. So this run became about proving something quieter than a PR. That I could still find joy out here. That my legs still remembered how. That showing up, today, on this familiar road, was enough.

An overlay only ever shows the outline. So be gentle with your comparisons, you’re never seeing the whole run.

Still share your runs.
Someone out there needs to see it more than you know (trust me).

Your reminder that you’re a runner.
However far. However fast.

Chapter 07 of 12: July, you were testing.

I stepped back this month. From a lot.
Some of it I chose. Some of it was chosen for me.

Two large pieces of who I am (content creation and fitness) both needed to sit on the shelf for a bit.

The online world is a strange thing to love.
It’s given me a community I wouldn’t trade for anything.

People who see themselves in what I share, who tell me I put words to something they’ve felt but never said out loud.
That’s the BEST part of this. But it can also be a lot.

This month, showing up honestly meant showing up less.

If you know me well, you know I struggle with the “in-between.”
It’s all or nothing, always has been. So navigating an injury is something that has forced rest, patience and slowing down.

My Strava says it all. The stats don’t lie and neither will I.
It’s hard to be honest about a lack of movement when movement is so much of how I define myself and what I lean towards when things are stressful.

I’m going to show you the truth, even when the truth is quiet.
Honesty on here is what I’ve always been about.

We all know the deeper the hole, the harder the climb out.
July was the hole.
