A Deadly Dish by @lindsayscottauthor book review.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 stars.
💚 Blurb-
When prominent New Forest businessman Nigel Bradley dies suddenly at his family's stables, there seems little reason to suspect foul play. But then tests reveal that Nigel was poisoned.
For New Forest Chronicle journalist Hep Anderssen, it's a story she can't resist. Rumours of Nigel's gambling quickly emerge, along with a mounting debts and secrets that suggest his respectable public image concealed a very different private life.
As Hep begins asking questions, suspicion falls increasingly close to home. Behind the gates of Fallen Oak Stables is a family already facing the loss of everything they hold dear, and someone is determined to protect them.
But Hep's search for answers is about to leave her with a dilemma she never expected, Because uncovering the truth is one thing. Deciding what to do with it is another.
🩵 Review -
I have read and enjoyed the first two books in the series and A Deadly Dish was no different. From the very first page I was hooked and the authors writing gripped me from the start. I found that there was plenty of content and twists and turns to keep me interested and guessing until the end. I loved the author's writing style and the pacing was just right. I also liked the characters in the story and I found them believable. The story gripped me so much that I read it in one sitting. Overall a brilliant novel that I highly recommend it. I look forward to reading more by the author.
💝 Thank you to the author @lindsayscottauthor for my copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Some reviews are important in a different way. Seeing my daughter really enjoy my book, and get all the twists and turns and red herrings that I planted, is so lovely in a way that I wasn’t expecting.

Pre-order it now! Another twisty mystery for Hep Anderssen writing a story about the unexpected death of a local businessman for her newspaper. But what if knowing the truth is harder than finding it?

I have to drag a separate chair round so he can curl up on it! Sometimes he has two when he wants to stretch out 😆 Am I just using Merlin as a distraction from the day of editing ahead of me?

Running in the sun. Beautiful. I rarely look forward to a run, but I never regret it once I’ve done it. And who would regret it with this view?

It was so lovely to hear readers excited about my personal connection to my books at the @bookextravaganza reader event at the weekend. My female lead character is a journalist and not a detective because I started my career as a journalist and know that they can do things the police can’t. Also I was born and brought up in the New Forest where the books are set so know the area so well. Selling out and newsletter signs ups were a brilliant bonus. Can’t wait for the next one!
