full moon in aries 9.26.26

in which part of life do you need to loosen the grip of being convinced you always know what’s best? where could you benefit from a bit more balance?

today’s aries full moon is ruled by Mars in the final degree of Cancer. Mars has been in Cancer’s wet domain since August 11, when the solar eclipse new moon in Leo was also happening. and by tomorrow night Mars will be in the part of the sky where the eclipse was.

so in a way, today could be asking to look back on what we intuitively knew we needed to start or act on, but didn’t quite have the fire behind to start or fully commit to.

at one point, when you started this cycle, you had the fire behind it. but perhaps that same determination has become part of what keeps you committed to a cycle that needs releasing.

balance and harmony gift us beautiful things in life. is there something you’ve been thinking you could get away with by intensely focusing on another part of life? only to be left dissatisfied or depleted when the day is done?

it’s a bit prickly to try and release the patterns that offer us comfort. often it’s easier to become comfortable in our thinking, habits and rituals vs push to initiate a big change.

with this full moon, a repeated pattern or cycle is illuminated. kinda like the part of a recurring dream where we sense we are close to a breakthrough, but waking up before we can get there.

so ask, what is the ultimate dream that this pattern is trying to protect you from?

if august hasn’t felt like the fun loving end of summer u pictured and has felt more like the seventh circle of… ya know. it’s not just the boiling temperatures. the planets have also been ✧ AGITATING ✧

AKA it has been and continues to be eclipse season. ✦

From august 12-28 we’re between eclipses. plus mars has been in cancer since august 11, where it is not exactly thrilled to be. mars is fiery. it wants to DO. it wants to act. it wants to go get it done. it does not want to be wet and introspective and slow down and nurture. we also don’t leave august without a mars saturn square on the 31st, but i can’t get into that right now. more later, maybe. ⋆

on august 27/28 we meet the final eclipse of the pisces/virgo story that began in september 2024.

and it’s happening right at the top of virgo szn.

listen. i’m not here for the virgo slander, but also not here for the pop astrology version of virgo.

virgo represents the maiden, turning the crops over in service of the people, IE: making sure there’s food after a long, hot growing season.

she isn’t just some nitpicky editor. virgo does what they do in service of the greater good and the routines and rhythms of life.

sit with this imagery. ˚₊‧

at the end of a HOT growing season, we need virgo’s attentiveness and intelligence to figure out what we have and what we can do with it.

growing doesn’t have to be perfect.
sometimes you give your all to growing something and it still doesn’t turn out the way you thought it would. you’re left with something quite different to make sense of, and create nourishment from.

that’s what this final eclipse wants us to do.
✦ release perfectionism
✦ consider what we’ve grown since september 2024
✦ ask what still needs to refine and what we’re ready to release

what did you used to think had to be perfect in order to exist?
what are you realizing can look or feel different?

release the idea that things have to go exactly the way you thought they should in order for them to be good.

the hardest thing to release isn’t the thing itself.
it’s what you imagined it should be before it took life of it’s own. (more in comments!) taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma by @lindsbrightstar
