Long post ahead, buckle up, buttercup.
One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make was waiting to adopt a dog. I remember in college, friends would get dogs and I just kept holding out for the perfect one.
I had excuses… I had apartments… I had places to be, and I knew that my dream dog was just out there waiting for me at the perfect time. I adopted cats instead(!!!), but I knew that there was a special dog waiting out there.
Shortly after I met Ryan in 2016 we decided to move in together the next year, and we were so blessed by two ranch dogs that were found out on the family‘s property in Granbury. I’ll never forget that special day on April 17, 2017 when Ryan called me and said I’m bringing home some dogs…! not just a dog, a couple! Next thing you know I had Reba in my arms, snuggling on my couch, and with her was her beautiful puppy daughter Ginger. Needless to say, they instantly became Ryan and I’s doggers. And the wait for the dog was over! 🎉🎉🎉

Reba and I were instantly connected~ although she ended up being Ryan’s soulmate forever and we constantly battled each other for his affection. LOLZ
I surrendered to her queen mentality and she surrendered to me (not really) and we shared Ryan for close to 10 years together. 😛

Reba went to heaven on September 1, 2026 and it’s taking me over a month to find the right words to dedicate to her… my beautiful sweet puppy.
She’s been more than just a dog. She’s been my soulmate’s soulmate, my best friend, my confidant, my snuggly, sweet potato. She was the sweetest momma dog (and got to live her WHOLE LIFE with her daughter, Ginger, right by her side! WIN!) and taught me how to be a wonderful mom to Wyatt & Jude and she also became the best big sister when she unwillingly got to share her home with two little boys, one of which looks exactly like Ryan…!!(so you know who her favorite is)
We miss her every day and we can’t wait to see her one day in heaven.

She thrived on life and sunshine and Wyatt’s love.
She taught me SO much.
The short adventure that we had was unforgettable and I am so honored to be apart of her journey.

Thank you, sweet little girl for the beautiful love you have shown my wonderful sons.
Thank you for the endless moments of laughter and the happiest memories to last forever.
You’re my sunshine girl, always. I’ll never ever forget your spots and your happy thoughts and those awesome green eyes.
