BREATHE INTO AUTUMN: Qigong + Sound Workshop w/ Lindsey
NOVEMBER 01, 2026 @ 9:30a-11:30a | $47

You’ve heard the benefits of qigong. Now it’s time to feel them as we fall into autumn.

Autumn invites us to slow down, reflect on what we value and make room for change.

Bring your friends and join Lindsey Ewert for a two-hour workshop exploring autumn through traditional Qigong teachings, gentle movement and sound. In the Five Element tradition, autumn is associated with the Metal element, the lungs and the large intestine. We’ll explore these seasonal connections alongside themes of letting go, navigating change, courage, and integrity.

A full hour of guided Qigong follows, incorporating mindful movement, breath awareness, the soft “sss” sound, and visualization. After a gentle transition to rest, we’ll settle into a 20-minute sound bath before closing together.

No previous Qigong experience is necessary. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water.

This workshop includes:

☐ Exploring Qigong in a beginner-friendly setting

☐ Gentle movement and greater body awareness

☐ Developing awareness of the breath

☐ Taking time to slow down and unwind

☐ Learning autumn’s traditional Five Element associations

☐ Reflecting on change, letting go, and what matters most

☐ Exploring themes of courage and integrity

☐ Experiencing stillness and rest through sound

I can think about a conversation long after it’s over. Replay it. Try to understand how someone felt, what they meant and whether there’s something I need to fix.

But understanding someone else’s emotions doesn’t make them my responsibility.

Qigong gives me a way to practice that distinction through movement, breath and intention. Instead of continuing to analyze, I have somewhere to bring my attention: my body, my breath, this moment.

Here, I’m practicing a purging movement with the intention of releasing stagnant qi—letting go of what feels heavy and what isn’t mine to carry.

For me, it’s a practice of caring without taking everything on.

On November 1, I’m hosting a qigong workshop where we’ll explore this practice together. If you’re used to being the person who holds everything for everyone, I’d love to share this space with you.

Message me “QIGONG” for the details. 🤍

Warrior II is a pose we often associate with strength and steadiness. But how a pose looks doesn’t tell us how it feels for the person in it.

That’s why I like bringing somatic cues into familiar poses.

Alignment cues give students direction. Somatic cues invite them to notice their breath, pressure, effort and support—and use that information to make a choice. They work together.

In my own practice, especially while healing from my brain injury, I began learning how much there was to notice beyond whether I was doing a pose “correctly.” That curiosity continues to shape how I teach.

In Warrior II, that might mean exploring a shorter stance, softening the effort in your arms, or noticing whether you’re holding your breath. Small explorations can help you discover how you want to inhabit the pose.

Sometimes I offer an adjustment. Sometimes I ask one question and leave enough quiet for students to explore their answer.

The cues here are options to draw from, rather than a script to deliver all at once. Try one, pause and give your students room to feel.

Save this for your next class, and follow for more ways to explore yoga from within.

It’s easy to fill your days with what everyone else needs. Leave a little room for the things that bring you back to you. 🤍

People see the life I’m living now. They don’t always see what it took to get here.

In February 2023, a hit-and-run left me with a traumatic brain injury. PTSD became part of my story, too.

Today, I spoke for NAMI about that experience and reducing the stigma around mental illness.

One thing my recovery has taught me: being able to teach, work, parent and show up doesn’t mean the struggle is over. You can be building a life you love and still be carrying something hard.

I share a lot of movement here. Yoga, strength training, the things I’m learning and becoming. My recovery is part of why that work means so much to me. It’s personal.

I want to make more room for us to talk about the parts people can’t see. Without needing to make our stories prettier or tie them up with a perfect ending.

If you’ve ever heard “but you seem fine,” I hope you know you don’t have to make your struggle visible for it to deserve understanding.

Thank you, NAMI, for giving me space to share mine. 🤍

What I learned in NASM this week as a yoga teacher studying to become a certified personal trainer: the exercise is only part of the plan.

The same reverse lunge can serve different goals:
• Muscular endurance: lighter weights, more reps, shorter rests.
• Muscle growth: challenging sets and enough total work.
• Maximal strength: heavier weights, fewer reps, longer rests.

There’s overlap, but the takeaway for my own training is simple: choose the weight, reps and rest with a purpose.

Learning it in the textbook, exploring it in my own practice. 🤍

Child’s Pose is one of those shapes we often introduce as a place to rest. But calling it restful doesn’t tell us how it feels for the person in it.

Sometimes that means offering a prop or another position. Sometimes it means asking one question and leaving enough quiet for someone to explore their answer.

The cues here are options to draw from, rather than a script to deliver all at once. Try one, pause and give your students room to feel.

Save this for your next class, and follow for more ways to explore yoga from within.

Last day in Joshua Tree favs. 🌵

It’s hard to explain what being alone felt like for me on this trip. There was an expansiveness to it, but on my hike, it was also a little eerie. So much space around me. So much quiet.

Every once in a while, a plane would fly overhead and remind me that life was still bustling somewhere else.

But for a little while, I got to just be here. taken in Joshua Tree National Park by @lindsey.actually
