I usually stay behind the camera, but with so many new faces here, it felt like the right time to reintroduce myself and the journey that led me into wildlife photography. Hi, I’m Lindsey. I’m a wildlife photographer from the United States who has always dreamed of a life shaped by nature, animals, and art.As a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a wildlife rehabilitator. I was always drawing, painting, researching animals on National Geographic, and later went to cosmetology school because I loved creating art. As I got older, building a career around those passions felt unrealistic, so I followed the “safe” path and studied HR management instead. But everything changed after a few pivotal moments. I bought a camera on a whim, not knowing where it would lead. A trip to Brazil sparked my love for photographing birds, and later, time spent photographing wildlife in Botswana made everything truly click. Seeing animals in their wild environment made photography feel deeply purposeful. It also opened my eyes to how fragile their future truly is.That was when I realized I wanted to immerse myself fully in this world, to photograph with care, help others experience these animals, educate, and protect the wild in any way I can. I did not know where this path would lead, only that something in me kept whispering, “try.”Since then, I’ve spent meaningful time in the field across diverse ecosystems, including my most recent time in Uganda, where I’ve had the privilege of observing gorillas, chimpanzees, leopards, pangolins, and more in their natural habitat. My work has since been published in a nature magazine, and I’ve begun collaborating with a couple of incredible tour companies, all while continuing to photograph birds and seasonal migration close to home. This work continues to challenge and teach me, and I’m committed to growing alongside the wildlife and communities I photograph.I am so excited to host wildlife photography tours this year in Uganda, Kenya, and India, and I cannot wait to bring you along for the ride. This path has allowed me to combine my love for wildlife, photography, and travel in ways I never thought possible. And I am truly grateful. by @lindseyclicks

Cheetahs are just so gorgeous. This particular one was quite active this morning, jumping from termite mound to termite mound looking for food. He just couldn’t seem to sit still! by @lindseyclicks

This beautiful male lion, Lepiyayoi / Olubi of the Rongai Pride, posed so well for me in the tall grasses at first light. He spent the morning with 3 of his brothers, scoping the landscape for a meal. We watched their failed buffalo hunt the night prior, and they were getting hungry.🏕️ @kapotocamp by @lindseyclicks

After an intense river crossing, the remainder of the zebra herd decided to stay behind and wait to cross another day. It was a peaceful contrast to the fight of survival that was witnessed just an hour before. Here, a massive herd of zebra relax for the night during the last hours of the day, perfectly highlighted by the golden sun. 🏕️ @kapotocamp by @lindseyclicks

There are few things that can beat a cheetah bathed in golden light. We found this female on the very first morning, walking in the tall grasses lit with the sun. She looked so beautiful ☀️ The cheetah was the cat I was most hoping to see, so seeing one so early into the trip in the most gorgeous setting was certainly a welcomed treat. Completely unrelated, but it is my birthday today! It is such a gift to be able to look back on the year that I had, and all the incredible wildlife experiences I’ve been so blessed to witness - like this glorious cheetah sighting in the Maasai Mara. So excited to see more of this world and its wildlife, and meet more amazing people on tour this year and the coming years! Kenya has the most beautiful sunrises. Every minute seemed to host different colors in the sky, which made photographing animal silhouettes so fun! One of the best moments on safari is certainly when a handsome male lion walks directly towards you. With an intent gaze, and confident stride, you are left with nothing else but to just pause and admire the force in front of you.🏕️ @kapotocamp by @lindseyclicks

Even kings have boundaries. This young cub eagerly approached the pride male, only to receive a not-so-subtle reminder about personal space. It didn’t seem to discourage the cub much 😂 by @lindseyclicks

Kenya, you completely stole my heart 🦁🇰🇪The Maasai Mara somehow exceeded every expectation I had.In just one week, I witnessed things I never expected to see. One of the biggest highlights of the trip was watching two energetic and nerve-wracking river crossings in June. I never imagined I’d be lucky enough to experience that so early in the season! I have always wanted to see the Great Migration, so having a little glimpse of it without the massive crowds was truly special. And that was only the beginning.Over the course of the week, we witnessed not one, not two, but THREE successful predator hunts, countless incredible big cat encounters, and some of the most unforgettable wildlife moments I’ve ever experienced.A huge thank you to everyone at @kapotocamp for making this experience so special. An extra shoutout to the best guide ever, Petro ( @petrokapoto ) for spending countless hours with me in the savanna, skipping lunches, and even making the journey all the way to the Tanzanian border in search of wildlife. I was incredibly lucky to have a guide who was just as passionate about finding and observing wildlife as I am.This trip reminded me exactly why I fell in love with wildlife photography in the first place. I just loved how photogenic these pied kingfishers are! In the States, the belted kingfishers we have are notoriously so hard to photograph because they never sit still and are so shy… such a contrast to these brave and common pied kingfishers in Uganda. These birds were everywhere! Here’s a pied kingfisher at sunrise, with the beautiful sun reflecting pinks and purples against the water 🌅 by @lindseyclicks

My first Eastern Screech Owl 🥹🦉taken after sunset right before this little guy left the cavity for the night. I’m sorry I haven’t been very active on here - I’ve been so incredibly busy lately!
