When I first wrote Sheldon's Time, I had no clue more stories were coming. Next thing I knew, his friends Stella and Sully were quite persistent and it turned into a three book series 🤣.

Then I visualized a collection with all three stories together with the title "The Seaside Stories." I share my vision with @nadja_m_studio and she creates this beautiful book cover for me 🥲.

I received a kind offer from a local author friend. I was very flattered and every part of me wanted to say yes.

I have school at the same exact day and time so I had to respond "I wish I could."

While it feels great to prioritize school, it doesn't feel as great to have to turn other things down for now. Fortunately, I have supportive friends who understand.

When I can do it, I will. Until then, I'll wish I could.

Just a quick thank you to the @thesavbananas for all of the planning that went into the Banana Bowl.

Since it streamed live on Disney+, it was my daughter and I's first opportunity to watch a game. For two hours we cheered, sang and danced.

I forgot how heavy the world often feels today. My soul really needed that break.

We were beyond thrilled that some of our favorite music artists, @andygrammer and @jonasbrothers, were a part of this magical night.

It's a great reminder that, even in a dark world, light always wins.

This Mama is now a lifelong fan.

My future Firefighter had the best time at @levelvfc 's Open House.

Between riding on a firetruck, watching a car fire demonstration, and learning CPR, she was truly in her element.

Long post but important. Please read if you're open to educating yourself on what sexual harassment can look like.

My stories as a woman:

1. I was grabbed (in a highly inappropriate way) by a bartender at a bar in my 20s. I attempted to tell management. No response.

2. While also in my 20s, a coworker started sexually harassing me at work by making inappropriate comments and staring at me in a creepy way. While I was highly uncomfortable, I didn't say anything until after he came up behind me and massaged my shoulders. I told HR, and they told me I could either talk to him first or they would. I did, even though I was SO incredibly uncomfortable. As far as I know, he received no repercussions from that employer. I was VERY fortunate that he actually backed off of me after that. Many women aren't that fortunate.

3. At another work place (also in my 20s), a married coworker started messaging me flirty messages on Facebook. I told him that he was married and that was inappropriate, and I blocked him on social media. I never reported it higher because I felt like no one would believe me.

4. At the same job as #3, a campus security guard thought it was appropriate to flirt with me while he was there investigating something in our office. Again, I stayed quiet, fully believing that no one would believe me.

I'm not sharing these stories because I want any ounce of sympathy. In fact, the saddest part to me is that I feel so unbelievably fortunate that I never suffered like some of my female friends have.

I have more than one female friend who has been raped. With those friends, justice was never served.

When I found out I was having a girl, I honestly started worrying AT THAT POINT. While I wish it didn't take something as extreme as what happened at Cornell for people to finally feel outraged, I'm grateful the outrage is finally here.

PLEASE raise your sons better. Teach them consent. Teach your kids not to adapt herd mentality and not to be afraid to stand up when something seems wrong.
