Are you a uni fresher and you cannot find your way through the Uni Area? Or maybe you’re a 2nd/3rd year student who’d like to meet new people?

On Thursday, the 17th we have organized the FRESHERS’ TOUR (and not only freshers!) around the Uni Area!

We will meet at 6 pm at Piazza Verdi, and afterwards there will be an aperitivo with music, spritz and beers at an affordable price!!🎶🍻

You’ll get to know your coursemates and other uni students, and your student representatives for Link - Studenti Indipendenti - they will answer all your questions and give you advice!

Come with us to discover the places within the Uni Area where you can study, eat, smoke a ciggies or simply chill and read a book! We’ll also see the historical meeting places, which are now unfortunately under constructions!

After a disastrous year for the right to education in Emilia-Romagna, things are not looking great for the new academic year.

The forecast? Up to 85% of first-year Bachelor’s and Master’s students could be left without a scholarship.

That’s why we’re fighting for scholarships for all, free university, the right to a future, and the freedom to build an independent life.

Monday, the 9th of March, by the dean’s decree, the students have been informed that the UniBo has managed to allocate the funds necessary to cover 50% of the amount of the scholarships for the students that were eligible for the scholarship, but that were then not the recipient for it (idone3 non beneficiari3).
But it is not enough yet

This is just a first and tardy step taken by the Universty, an unsavoury placeholder to a structural problem.
Covering half of the necessary amount for the 950 scholarships that are still unpaid is not enough yet.

As Link- Student Indipendenti we won’t stop protesting and taking action.
Against the attacks towards the right to study, against the dismantling of public university and it being impoverished.

Against the disinvenstment by the Government, against the Regione Emilia Romagna, which has denied there being any problems for months, until the students found themselves without their scholarships!

Yesterday, February 16, the Academic Senate discussed the motion we presented to ask Unibo to cover the missing scholarships.

Silence fell in the chamber.

The Rector spoke of a lack of funding. Over 1,000 students, all freshmen, are currently unfunded. This is the political fact we must start from.

Despite attempts to deflect responsibility, the motion was amended and approved: the Rector was instructed to find the necessary resources, including through the Board of Directors, to cover the scholarships.

Meanwhile, outside the Rector’s Office, the student community protested. Because the right to education cannot depend on budgetary balance. It cannot be passed on to the Region, Er.Go, or the government. It cannot be postponed.

Unibo claims its international dimension, but today hundreds of international students find themselves without scholarships, in an increasingly expensive and exclusive region. This contradiction is plain for all to see.

University is not a privilege.

EMERGENZA DIRITTO ALLO STUDIO IN EMILIA ROMAGNA!
In Emilia-Romagna l’allarme diritto allo studio non è ancora finito e forse non finirà.
Quest’anno ER.GO non riesce a garantire la copertura totale delle borse di studio. Tornano l3 idoneɜ non beneficiariɜ.
A oggi solo il 93% degli aventi diritto risulta coperto.
Non è una fatalità. È il risultato di anni di tagli e scelte politiche che hanno trasformato l’università in uno spazio sempre più selettivo, dove studiare è ormai un privilegio e non un diritto.
A rimanere esclusɜ sono soprattutto studentɜ in condizioni di fragilità, tra cui moltɜ studentɜ internazionali.
Per loro la borsa non è un sostegno accessorio: è ciò che rende possibile restare in Italia. Rimanere senza, significa precarietà. In alcuni casi significa dover tornare in contesti di guerra, instabilità o repressione.
Le responsabilità sono politiche: del Governo, della Regione, ma anche dell’Università di Bologna, che può scegliere di intervenire per tutelare lɜ propriɜ studentɜ.
Noi non resteremo a guardare mentre il diritto allo studio viene sottratto.
Per questo *lunedì 16 febbraio alle ore 10* , in occasione del Senato Accademico, saremo in *presidio* di fronte al Rettorato. Per un diritto allo studio garantito, per tuttɜ!

We are an independent student organization, which has been active at the University of Bologna since 2013. Participate, propose, build: let’s build another university together: grassroot, independent, accessible.

BUT WHO ARE WE?
Link is a left-wing student organization that fights for a truly guaranteed right to study.

We are INDEPENDENT from any party or union (no, we don’t take money from anyone). We want to represent the students’ voice, responding only to our needs and not to other interests.

We also deal with REPRESENTATION within courses, departments and throughout the university, in order to bring to the administrative bodies the problems that we as students experience every day, such as those related to exam sessions, limited spots, scholarships, accommodation, alias careers, and much more.

For us, the tool of representation is not the goal but a tool to build the other university that we want, a space where we can feel good, that is not a source of anxiety but of collective growth and emancipation.

But what does ANOTHER UNIVERSITY mean?
We believe that starting from the places of knowledge we must and can imagine another society: decolonial, anti-racist, ecological and trans-feminist.
