Every landscape is traversed by water, even when we don’t see it.

During my residency at the Gori Foundation – Villa Celle, I attempted to explore this invisible presence through “Quest’acqua che alla fine tocca terra,” on display until the end of September.

Per la mostra 𝑰𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒊 𝒇𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒛𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆, esito del progetto di residenza 𝐶𝑂𝐴𝐵𝐼𝑇𝐴𝑍𝐼𝑂𝑁𝐼: 𝐴𝑟𝑡𝑒, 𝑝𝑎𝑒𝑠𝑎𝑔𝑔𝑖𝑜 𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑎̀. 𝐼𝑙 𝑡𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑜 𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑠𝑒. Partendo dallo studio delle storiche pratiche di gestione idrica della Tenuta di Celle e dalla consultazione della mappa Leopoldina, l’artista ha sviluppato una ricerca che osserva il paesaggio come esito di una continua negoziazione tra intervento umano e processi naturali, aprendo una riflessione sul rapporto tra acqua, territorio e forme di coesistenza.

When did the relationship between the river and the people who inhabit it change? For how long has water, as a primordial element, influenced the growth of human populations? How does nature, when deprived of its space, manage to reclaim it with force, imposing its presence?
In recent months, I have explored the connection between rivers and the adjacent areas, discovering a series of objects that, though often considered waste, are revitalized in my work. This metal plate, for example, comes from a house built between the river and the embankment, a place where construction should not have occurred.
The resulting drawing tells this story: in the background, almost transparent, the trace of a free-flowing river appears, with references to the springs that feed it. Above it, a white, straight line divides the metal support: an external element that dictates the river’s course, as if to mark the forced separation between nature and human construction. The contrast between natural freedom and human imposition becomes the beating heart of this composition

Quand’è cambiato il rapporto tra il fiume e le persone che lo abitano? Da quanto l’acqua, in quanto elemento primordiale, incide sulla crescita delle popolazioni umane? Come la natura, quando privata dei suoi spazi, riesce a riprenderseli con forza, imponendo la sua presenza?
In questi mesi ho approfondito il legame tra i fiumi e le zone limitrofe, esplorando una serie di oggetti che, pur essendo spesso considerati rifiuti, vengono rivitalizzati nel mio lavoro. Questa lastra in metallo, ad esempio, proviene da una casa costruita tra il fiume e l’argine, un luogo dove non avrebbe dovuto sorgere nulla.
Il disegno che ne emerge racconta proprio questo: sullo sfondo, quasi trasparente, appare la traccia di un fiume che scorre libero, con accenni alle risorgive che lo alimentano. Sopra di essa, un tracciato bianco, dritto e deciso, divide il supporto metallico: un elemento esterno che impone la direzione del fiume, come a voler segnare la forzata separazione tra natura e costruzione. Il contrasto tra la libertà naturale e l’imposizione umana diventa il cuore pulsante di questa composizione.
