Love you to the green gates and back 💚

I’ve been so incredibly blessed to spend 13 unforgettable summers behind the green gates—at both Guad and Cypress Lake. Camp Mystic has shaped me in more ways than I can count. Just ask any of my close friends… I probably mention camp at least once a day.

This summer marked my third year as a counselor and my first year as the Media Manager for 6th Term at Cypress Lake. There are truly no words to describe the heartbreak of seeing our perfect July summer come to such an abrupt and devastating end.

My heart and prayers go out to every single girl from both 2nd Term and 6th Term. I fully believe God’s timing is intentional. I had been given time off for the Fourth and left camp at 1 PM—just hours before the flooding began. While I wasn’t physically there, my heart—and all of my belongings—were with my friends, campers, and fellow M Girls.

This entire experience still feels surreal. It’s hard to comprehend how our home away from home could be taken like this. But I hold tightly to the truth that “this is goodnight and not goodbye.”

My heart is broken, and my prayers are with the Eastland family, Kerr County, Mystic’s campers and staff, and everyone affected by this tragedy.
