My Testimony Against Trump’s Vanity Arch that Desecrates Arlington Natl Cemetery: National Capitol Planning Commission I testified before the National Capital Planning Commission today against Trump’s 250-foot arch at Arlington. I’m a combat vet who served in Iraq and the daughter of two retired Park rangers. The Park Service’s own report says it would be built 20 hours a day for up to three years, so families would bury their dead to the sound of pile drivers. I’m a Vet. Trump Wants a Vanity Arch Over Arlington’s Dead. Tomorrow I Testify to Stop it.I’m standing in Memorial Circle, Arlington National Cemetery behind me, where the people I served with are buried. Trump wants to build an arch to himself here, on National Park Service land, without Congress, 20 hours a day for two and a half years. That means no silence for the families burying their loved ones, 20 to 30 funerals a day, through the noise and the lights and the observation tower. My parents are retired Park rangers. This is lawless, and it’s a desecration. I’m testifying to stop it. Call your reps. Speak out. A Veteran on Memorial Day: Trump Is a Coward. Hegseth Is Erasing the Military I Served In.I’m an Iraq War veteran, and I refuse to spend Memorial Day pretending Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are anything other than what they are. Trump got five deferments to dodge Vietnam. He called the American war dead in France “suckers” and “losers.” He told a Gold Star general “what was in it for them?” inside Arlington Cemetery. He says he gets “a kick” out of the 13 Americans who died in the Iran war he started. Pete Hegseth fired the first female Chief of Naval Operations because she was a woman. He fired the first Black Joint Chiefs chairman because he was Black. He’s banning trans troops, purging women officers, bringing Christian nationalism into the Pentagon.
