RIP Studio 9, home of my former studio (jokingly called “The Rectum”). This building was pretty shitty to be honest. Lots of roaches and fire code violations but some amazing records were made there. My room was a tiny 8x8 windowless cell with no AC. I squeezed a lot of people in. Tim Burgess (Charlatans UK), Kurt Baker, Allstar Weekend and so many more. Down the hall was my friend and mentor @popantipop mixing some huge records and there were always a lot of bands coming in and out. I remember hearing @sugarcult_official doing pre-production for one of their albums. My room was right off the lounge so I was constantly getting interrupted while recording (I actually wrote the song “When It’s Quiet” during a moment when it was finally quiet). I’m glad to be recording in my own studio now (with AC! haha) but I’ll always cherish the magic of Studio 9. It was really….something. by @linusdotson

@weezer‘s “Pinkerton” turned 30 today! There’s no better time to reminisce about touring with them in ‘97. Thirty years later and it still feels like yesterday - rental van, Mykel & Carli, snowy highways, Buffy on TV, and kids singing along every night. It’s all documented in this song…

Had the best time last week playing @bottomofthehillsf one last time(?) with my friends. I found out the day before I left town that PCH was reopened after the fire near Big Sur so I was like “fuck it”
and did the drive, stopping along the way to see the sea lions, eat some cinnamon rolls and hit some record shops. I’m glad I went because now PCH is closed again. 😩 SF was fun as usual and I enjoyed hanging with my UK friends @mdc_potter @karaharvey who flew out for the show (and brought me Gold Bars and Haribo!) The shows were packed and we got to play with our brothers @ridel_high and @pulsarsband and new friends @dogparty and @thekegelssf. Success! taken in San Francisco, California by @linusdotson
