You would have been 40 today. I feel like you knew some shit and dipped before things went all the way a la chingada; still hard to believe you're not here to be a funny miserable with Mo and I.

It is no secret where family falls in my value system. Like Claim Jumper, we've always functioned as a team and one's win, is a win for all. Last night being no exception. So intriguing, it was sweet to see you in a slightly different element @realgilcarrillo but a natural nonetheless.

At one point during the Q&A a lovely lady picked up the microphone just to call my mom a true hero in all of the madness and instinctually I shot up out of my seat in honor.

If my knees weren't so shaky, and I had the courage to stand up, I would have attested to the master class in parenting by both at such a volatile time. My Parents acted in such a way, that shielded us completely from the messiness, and although The Night Stalker had everyone in California mottified, there is not a time I didn't feel covered, protected or prioritized.

The first time I got scared was when the series dropped and I realized that they were young and were up against some real life decisions. It humanized them in a way I'd never seen before and you can't put value on the protection, but the pride I have in ur ability to persevere is endless.

Out of the billions of impossibilities, to be handpicked to be a part of this crew, will always be my honor.

I love watching @cheytown1 perform, but specifically look forward to this one show a year. Watching you shine light, and breathe hope into lives that might otherwise lack through music is truly amazing. One New Year's Eve this one told me that our pool was not even that cold and we should just jump in; without question we proceeded to strip down to our brassieres and undies and almost die Titanic style the second we hit the water.

Arely is absolutely the friend my mom warned me about, and I would have it no other way! Thank you for reminding me what 4 am looks like.... can't wait 'til the next ❤️
