It’s been proven that areas with more trees and plants in the ground handle drought better. Why? Because the plants humidify the air by bringing water up their trunks and branches then transpire it out their leaves, helping bring water into the atmosphere so accumulating clouds become heavier and drop their precipitation over that area. The cycle then continues.

Know what else helps? Loads of organic material in the soil. Mychorrzial networks will help with root resilience and can grab water and nutrients from areas not suffering as much.

So what’s my advice during a drought? Keep planting. Keep mulching. It’s a good idea to plant water wise. But don’t let drought stop you from putting something in the ground and watering it responsibly. by @linzinthetrees

My radishes are bigger than today’s to-do list…so far. They will have to wait until lunch to get washed.

Test dig on the garlic this morning- they’re ready, but will have to wait until the weekend. 🫣 by @linzinthetrees
