🎬 Concept Trailer ✨Our documentary, “There’s a Lane for Us Here,” by @lionheartmotionworks traces Denver’s Little Saigon along Federal Blvd, a vibrant business district built by Vietnamese, Southeast, and East Asian refugees. While Little Saigons exist across the U.S., few films have centered them, despite their deep cultural and historical impact.

As we recognize National Immigrant Heritage Month this June, we’re proud to share a story that honors the fortitude, legacy, and collective memories of our immigrant communities.

Through business owners and families in the district, we look at how memory is kept alive, not just through spaces like storefronts and markets, but through people, traditions, and community.

As the immigrant generation ages and the neighborhood faces change, we ask: how do we carry these memories forward? As landscapes shift and history fades, preservation goes beyond protecting infrastructure. It is also rooted in the act of remembering. This film invites you to stroll down a memory lane we must collectively preserve.

Day 1-2: I had such a wonderful time being part of the @apiahip 2026 National Forum here in Colorado! ❤️

More than 250 attendees came together for four days of workshops, tours, and conversations focused on preserving Asian and Pacific Islander American history and the places that tell our stories.

I was especially honored to present alongside @capu_2021 Joie and @historycolorado Yadira about Big Dreams in Little Saigon and share the story of our Little Saigon community and Far East Center.

It was so meaningful to see our community included in a national conversation about historic preservation and why protecting these places matters for future generations.

So grateful to @apiahip and everyone who helped bring this incredible forum to Colorado. ❤️

Team CAPU is coming in strong at @apiahip this week! We’re so excited to co-host this national convening, and share with Asian & Pacific Islander historical preservationists across the country the amazing things we got going on here. Here are just some of CAPU’s team, board, and volunteers that are presenting this week.

We are also so grateful that we were able to help some of our amazing community partners put together panels to share their work. It’s not everyday that national Asian Pacific Islander convenings happen in Colorado, but though our numbers may be lower, our impact is clear. by @lionheartmotionworks

I am so thrilled to be a part of Forum this year!

I will alongside my fearless best friend and badass director @hannahtrance as we present a preview of the work we are diligently working on as well as also joining a panel to talk about our first feature documentary ‘There’s a Lane for Us Here’ ❤️🎥

The 2026 National APIAHiP Forum, a biennial gathering of historic preservation practitioners and community advocates from across the country, takes place September 10-13 and this year it is in Denver and Aurora, Colorado.

This year’s theme, Emerging Historic Places, Centuries in the Making, explores Asian & Pacific Islander American histories through sites across Colorado: Denver’s lost Chinatown, the last block of Sakura Square’s Nihonmachi, the newly designated Far East Center in Little Saigon, Aurora’s Havana Street corridor, and Amache National Historic Landmark.

@lionheartmotionworks and @capu_2021 are seeking an Assistant Archival Producer to support on-the-ground research for the upcoming documentary film, “There’s a Lane For Us Here,” about Denver’s Little Saigon.

This is a paid part-time position with a flexible schedule taking place in spring and summer 2026. We are looking for someone based in the greater Denver area who is proficient in Vietnamese and ready to engage with research and archiving!
