Throw back to a great sighting 7 yrs ago this was December 2019, 4 of the 5 Black Rock boys managed to hunt down a full-size buffalo. These boys became famous buffalo hunters at only 2 yrs old. We are glad to see their sons the 5 Rongai rockers are carrying on their legacy, and have settled with Rekero pride nowadays. ❤️

Lk116 is alive! The Lake Quintet male was seen yesterday recovering from his recent attack by a coalition of 4 males. Close by his brothers Lk117 and Lk120 were also seen resting. Hopefully the King can make a come back.

Arguably the rarest and craziest sighting in the Mara if not in the wild. The mighty Rongai Pride attempted to bring down a Black Rhino yesterday in the morning. The rangers had to intervene and save the rhino.

This footage was captured by one of my clients from above in a Hot Air Balloon.

UPDATE ON LK115

I want to give you the honest truth about LK115. Since July 14th, when I last saw him injured by his sons, I have been in close contact with the Ngorongoro Conservation vets and rangers. We have been searching for him every day.

Today, that active search has ended. From now on, we will assume he is gone.

Personally, I am 90% sure he has passed away. But I will leave 10% hope. Why? Because I have seen many Crater lions disappear when injured, only to come back healthy. Sometimes their coalition brothers even bring them food while they heal in the rims. Since we also cannot see his brothers LK117 and LK120, maybe they are somewhere with him. That is my hope.

I want to give a big thank you to Dr. Wambura and his team. They are doing a great job and are very cooperative with us guides.

However, I must speak clearly about the false stories spreading online. I am seeing people post fake news just to get attention. I invest my time digging for the real facts. I visit Kope Lion at night, I talk to vets in all the parks, and I guide every day to learn the truth.

Everything about these lions is known and recorded. How many are left, how many died, and what killed them it is all documented. TAWIRI just released the new lion statistics for 2026. Go to their site and read. You will see the real numbers.

Some people are even saying LK115 was the only lion left. Can you imagine?

I have discussed with park authorities about taking action against those who spread lies about our Tanzania wildlife. We must protect the truth.

Let us respect the process and honor the memory of these great lions.

What a sweet moment daddy Osuppat hanging out with his three sons/partners, Olodo, Osoit and Oltau. They were enjoying a happy bonding time, rubbing hair with each other !

Today we also witnessed the solo male Orkirikoi came close by to his own two sons (Survey boys), and also close to another solo male Bron (they were not “together”, but just near by around). Definitely we hope to see some miracle Orkirikoi could also form an alliance with his own subadult sons !

Watch the drama filmed today at Western Sabi Sands. The two Plains Camp boys Makhunga and brother tracked down and attacked whom the guides believe is their own son, the Nkuhuma breakaway boy. It’s a light attack, nothing severe, but we would definitely hope to see the two Plains Camp boys do some serious job to clear out all intruders from their territory, not simply targeting the son!

What a fantastic sighting at Ngorongoro Crater, a white rhino was walking straightly to a coalition of lions, and forced the lions to retreat. It’s glad to see these three old legends still hold strong together. They are the 3 remaining Lake Quintet males , filmed on July 1st.
