Fall, poured differently.

What happens when you leave the pumpkin spice behind?

We asked Henry Hill Jr., better known as Liquid Skeleton, what he’s pouring this season, and his answer is The Other Fall. Bourbon and apple cider meet fresh lemon juice, bitters, cinnamon, and a touch of butterscotch for a cocktail that feels distinctly autumnal without leaning on the expected.

It’s warm, layered, a little unexpected, and entirely at home on a crisp fall evening.

THE OTHER FALL
2 oz. Bourbon (or measure with your heart)
1/2 oz. Butterscotch Schnapps
1/2 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Aquafaba (optional)
2 oz. Apple Cider
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
2 dashes Cinnamon, divided

Swipe for instructions!

With 25 years behind the bar, Henry is a beverage architect, Virginia’s Bartender of the Year, and has been featured in Southern Living and The Local Palate. Follow @liquidskeleton and save this post for your next fall gathering.

The 1882 Bar at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is a fantastic place to unwind with a beverage, whether you’re a traveler or a local. We met with lead mixologist Henry Hill to learn how to make Virginia’s Cocktail of the Year, a creation he calls “No Place Like Home.” It’s a segment from a recent collaboration with Buzz4good and Visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge about Williamson Road. The full episode is out now on RVTV and Buzz4Good YouTube pages. #cocktails #spiritedva #hotelroanoke taken in The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center by @liquidskeleton
