You Can't Kill Us is coming up!

Not just a festival - a fundraiser which aims to do something very close to my heart, bring trans joy.

I am very excited to share that Leiwaan is travelling to perform our music together, on stage. George is the heart, soul and mastermind behind Leiwaan X Lirielle, and I encourage you all to come say hello!

Also joining is the incredible Ishaani, who I know many of you are excited to see. She is wonderful and I looooooooove her music.

Essentially the lineup rocks and is chocca with cool people who care about the trans community.

This is a festival, a fundraiser and a protest in one.

Proceeds are going towards trans lifelines including counselling and mental health support.

Protect the dolls. Employ the dolls. Love the dolls.

Some photos of outfits I liked. All photos I’ve taken of myself recently are of how crazy unwell I look.

Don’t you hate how when you tag someone in a post where the first picture is a selfie, it sends a selfie into their inbox?

Holding out hope I feel healthier during the latter half of the year. Chronic health problems are very difficult and I would like to not be in and out of the healthcare system like I have been for the past 4 or so years. Look after yourselves and most importantly be cunty. And be nice.

Song unrelated to the above. Just a beautiful tune from a great debut. Did you know Syd was 19 when The Internet made this album? Well you do now.

I have been asked a lot recently what my baby blue tattoo means.

This is what it means.

“My, my baby blue, yeah I’ve been thinking about you.
My, my baby blue, I’m a talking bout you.”

Lucy Blue, my Mother.

Today is the five year anniversary of losing her.
A sudden illness, a grave loss. Indescribable.

Some of you knew my mother; and loved her, because everyone did. She loved you too. (Especially Sam).

Her hobbies included a good day at the pub, karaoke, crocheting, arts and crafts, acting in Grandma’s original plays, reading - fantasy usually… but mostly she enjoyed to be with family.

I miss everything about having a devoting mother in my life. The “have you arrived safely” texts, the stupid songs she would make up, her full laughter. Even her singing Bruno Mars’ Locked Out of Heaven ridiculously loud at 9am when I’m trying to sleep after getting home from a bar shift at 4am. I miss her lifting her hands off the steering wheel and screaming whilst driving around a roundabout to the secret track on the Scissor Sister’s album. I miss her smell when she wrapped me in a hug. I miss having her shoulder to cry on. I really miss her.

I still listen to your favourite songs, I still sing them at karaoke, I still wear your perfumes. I’m sometimes told I am the spit of you and sometimes I think - wow, I really am turning into my Mother.

I never thought I was going to recover the loss of my Mother. I was truly ill, understandable of course when your whole life is disintegrating around you. Still unfair, and I despise who I was at this time. Thanks everyone who stuck around and supported me emotionally helping me with housing, moving, venting, and the like. I kept every gift I received. I remember all the well wishes. Friends are something I’ve never been short of, and I love you all so much.

If you read this, please raise whichever vice you have to our Lucy today. A honey Perla would be great.

Rest in peace Mum. You would have loved to see Jinkx Monsoon win All Stars All Winners.
