“Austin Sprouting” found a new home on Saturday during The Rise of Her art party at @thewomensgallery_atx • It is the largest resin-coated (and sanded) piece I’ve ever made at 24x36. The ATX skyline never disappoints. 🌟 Digitally layered with wildflowers and some color swapping for good measure. 😉 A huge THANK YOU to the collector and The Women’s Gallery! 🤍🤍 Sponsors: 📸: Photos by @boxclicks

There’s something MAGICal about these next two weekends in November...
The Austin Studio Tour IS HAPPENING, organized expertly by @almostrealthings

It reminds me of the first time I visited studios around AUSTIN, not as an artist, but as someone who was just starting the journey to discover and practice creativity, still working as a technical writer, but longing to branch out artistically.

I visited the Canopy Studios and was BLOWN AWAY by the sheer magnitude of inspiration exuding from one location (with SO MANY studios).

To be participating again this year at Canopy, is an HONOR.

The collection I’m featuring is “beTWIGSt and between”. This photography-based art starts with images of discarded TWIGS, branches, and leaves and positioning them into semi-thoughtful arrangements. Digitally LAYERING the images takes on a life of its own as I make decisions on composition and COLOR to create organic abstractions that inspire curiosity and feelings of peacefulness. The final touches after the print is mounted on a wood panel might involve shiny or matte resin or GOLD FOIL or tactful glitter or an unnoticeable spray varnish.

We’d love for you to visit our studio!

Not a drop of resin was wasted in the making of this video. Clean edges FTW. (A mistake was made capturing the measurement of resin part 2. 🙃) #resinart #nature #color #process #artlife taken in Austin, Texas by @lisa.zinna
