Music really is the ultimate connector. You can not see each other for 20 years and still pick up right where you left off, as if you’d played together just last week. by @lisabassenge

We have some beautiful news to share: SIREN is being supported by Initiative Musik!

We’re incredibly grateful for this support and for the trust in our project and in what we’re building together.

This funding means that we can take SIREN further: create more music, invest in recordings, photos and videos, bring our voices to more places, and create more opportunities for this group of amazing musicians to work and grow together. It also makes it possible for us to make this project more sustainable including the very real things that make it possible for musicians and mothers to participate.

For us, SIREN is about much more than singing together. It’s a space for friendship, solidarity and hope and for using music to speak up and connect.

We believe it matters that intersectional and politically engaged music projects are supported. There should be space and funding for music that reflects the world we live in, asks questions, challenges structures and brings people together.

So thank you, Initiative Musik, for seeing us, trusting us and supporting what we’re doing.

It means a lot.

We can’t wait to see where this takes us. by @lisabassenge
