Decided to take a little break.

And I’m excited to start dancing a little again from September… honestly it feels like it’s been a lifetime since I last did properly.

Excited to learn although it feels like I’m starting over. Which is totally fine. I’m here to enjoy the journey.

Really excited to get back into it, but this time with a new motivation and a different focus.

I’ll be documenting as much as possible so feel free to unfollow if you don’t fancy it loool.

I’m living in London now, so see some of y’all in class!!! 💃🏾 taken in London, United Kingdom by @lisabdance

Being a beginner at something is uncomfortable… and honestly sometimes really hard.

But it’s part of the process if you want to get good at anything.

I love learning but there are definitely moments where doubt creeps in and I catch myself wondering if I can really get this.

That’s why having teachers who keep it real with you matters so much - the ones who will support your growth not just in skill but in mindset too ❤️‍🔥

Thank you @damybaila for the 1:1 sessions- glad you are a part of my dance journey!!! 🫶🏾 taken in Portsmouth, England, UK by @lisabdance

Here’s what you can expect at the @afrocubandancefestival 🇨🇺

The level of instruction = incredible. We had a mix of old and new generations which was such a blessing and there’s nothing better than learning from those who train/trained at the Conjunto every day! 🌟

Grateful to have added an experience like this to my dance journey. The vibes were immaculate.

I made so many memories with familiar faces and also connected with amazing new dancers ❤️

Next year is their 10th anniversary so I’m sure there will be a big celebration. If you’re thinking about going but aren’t sure, feel free to DM me - I’d love to share more about my experience!

✨✨✨

Anyone who knows me knows Cuba has always been on my dream list and April this year, I finally got to go.

I didn’t see too much of the country since most of my time was spent dancing but it was still a trip filled with so many fond memories.

My highlights are happy but the reality of the situation in Cuba is hard and I’m not here to mask that. Despite everything, the Cubanos hold a very special place in my heart ❤️.

Here’s a very brief snapshot of how I spent my first 48h in Cuba.

Next will be all about the @afrocubandancefestival 💃🏾 taken in La Habana, Cuba by @lisabdance
