An Evening Celebrating Love, Science & Legacy

What an extraordinary evening. Terri Orbuch and I had the pleasure of joining Dr. Justin Garcia, Executive Director of The Kinsey Institute, for the inaugural Helen Fisher Distinguished Lecture at The Explorers Club in New York City, an incredible evening celebrating the life, work, and legacy of my dear friend Dr. Helen Fisher.

We were also honored to spend time with Drs. John and Julie Gottman, who were featured for the inaugural lecture. Their groundbreaking work has transformed our understanding of love, relationships, and what makes partnerships last.

The evening was especially meaningful to me because Helen was such an important part of the Global Love Institute community. In 2019, The Global Love Institute honored Helen with our Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her extraordinary contributions to the scientific understanding of love, attraction, and human connection.

To see her legacy celebrated by The Kinsey Institute, surrounded by people who have devoted their lives to understanding love and relationships, was incredibly special.

An evening I will always remember and a beautiful tribute to a woman whose work changed the way the world understands love.

There was something special about welcoming people into our matchmaking office. It was where so many meaningful conversations began, and we’ll always have a soft spot for that chapter.

While we no longer have a traditional office, we absolutely still love meeting our clients in person whenever they prefer. At the same time, technology allows us to work with exceptional people wherever they are, expanding our reach around the world while maintaining the thoughtful, highly personalized approach that has always been at the heart of what we do.

We’re grateful for how far we’ve come, and excited for where we’re going. Here’s to remembering where we’ve been and looking forward to what’s next together. by @lisaclampittmatchmaking

Older Adults Are No Longer Staying in “Empty Shell” Marriages — a recent New York Times @nytimes piece shared by our Director of Recruitment and Date Coach, Cayley Boire.
Here’s what the experts have to say:
Dr. Justin Garcia @drjustingarcia, Executive Director of The Kinsey Institute, explains that for the first time in human history, many couples are spending 50, 60, or even 70 years together. As our lifespans have changed, so have our expectations of relationships. (Those who know our team know we’re big admirers of Dr. Garcia’s work. If you haven’t read The Intimate Animal, it’s worth adding to your list!)
Sociologist Dr. Claire Kamp Dush notes that marriage today is expected to provide much more than it once did. Rather than staying together because of traditional roles or obligation, many people are asking whether their relationship is still truly fulfilling.
Researcher Dr. Susan Brown found that while many men choose to re-partner after a gray divorce, many women discover fulfillment through independence, close friendships, or eventually a different kind of love and companionship.
Many of our clients at Lisa Clampitt Matchmaking are extraordinary people navigating exactly this chapter — people who have lived full, rich lives and are ready to find a genuine partnership that reflects who they are today.
Do you think our longer lifespans have changed what we expect from love and marriage? We’d love to hear your perspective. 🩶 Link to the full article is in our bio. by @lisaclampittmatchmaking

Once a year, our team gathers in New York City for the Global Love Conference, bringing together some of the brightest minds in dating, relationships, psychology, technology, and matchmaking.

While our team collectively brings decades of experience to this work, we believe learning never stops. As relationship research evolves and technology continues to reshape how people connect, staying curious and informed is essential.

We look to these experts to challenge our thinking, expand our perspectives, and help us better serve our clients and singles. Every year, we leave inspired, energized, and full of new ideas—ready to bring fresh insights, deeper expertise, and renewed passion back to the people who trust us with one of the most important parts of their lives.

Because helping people find meaningful, lasting love is a responsibility we never stop learning for. by @lisaclampittmatchmaking

The Global Love Conference, hosted by the Global Love Institute @globalloveinstitute has been bringing together professionals in the dating industry since 2007.

It was the first of its kind and remains the largest in-person conference for matchmakers, coaches, and relationship experts—a space to connect, learn, and grow together.

Each year, people come together to exchange ideas, build relationships, and stay at the forefront of how this industry continues to evolve.

This year’s conference will feature conversations with leading voices including Dr. Amir Levine, Lori Gottlieb, Aleeza Ben Shalom, Dr. Justin R. Garcia, Maria Avgitidis, and Leslie John.

We’re excited for another year of learning, connection, and meaningful conversation.

Happy to share some recent success stories from our wonderful clients.

Their journeys looked different in timing, age, and number of introductions, but what they shared was openness, possibility, and a willingness to stay curious. by @lisaclampittmatchmaking

Valentine’s Day can amplify a lot.

Underneath it all is the desire to feel seen. We love @carolinefleckphd ‘s work on what truly helps people feel that way.

The relationships that last, romantic or otherwise, aren’t built on constant agreement. They’re built on emotional safety.

And safety begins with validation, helping another person feel understood.

Feeling seen isn’t about relationship status.
It’s about the quality of connection, with others and with yourself.

That’s what makes love sustainable. by @lisaclampittmatchmaking

Happy holidays 🤍

With appreciation for this community, near and far.
Grateful for you. 🤍 by @lisaclampittmatchmaking
