Happy 30th to my wee bestie/cousin! Like you always say… the only reason I was born was to be your cousin, and so now that we both live in the same part of the world again, every day is pretty much your birthday (you’re welcome). Really though, have the most amazing day/year! I’m very proud of you for literally just surviving your twenties… and for following your own path. Who woulda thought that the girl I picked up from YYZ with the 3 custom suitcases, long white hair extensions, a fake tan Trump would envy, and an all white outfit would still be here today, and would have accomplished all the stuff you have in the last few years. It’s been a riot, but I can’t wait to see what happens in the next chapter of Shabba in CA! You are the only one that can control your happiness and story, remember that always. Love you loads… thanks for always being here, there, and everywhere I need you to be. Mia, there aren’t enough words to thank you for being the greatest sidekick a girl could dream of. I prayed for so many years to have a dog, and I never could have imagined having one as wonderful as you. I was truly blessed. I genuinely don’t think I could have made it to where I am without the loyalty, support, and love that you gave me throughout our 16.5 years together. You got me through some of the hardest times I’m sure I’ll ever go through. You never left, and you were always excited to see me come through the door; whether it was after a two week vacation, or a 20 minute trip to the grocery store. If I could wish for anything in this life, it would be that my dogs could live forever. For anyone who has known me, they’ve known Mia. She may have loved food more than anything else - but she was the most loyal, and smart dog I’ve ever known. Through every hard time, and every great time, she was right there. It will take a while to adjust to a life without her by my side. To eat food without hearing her desperately persuading me to share. I hope that I was able to give you a life that you enjoyed. Having you in mine truly made it so much greater. I will miss you so so much my girl. You were my purpose when I struggled to have one, my joy when I was sad, my sounding board, and my best friend. You were the greatest reminder that family can be whatever and wherever you want it to be. You were my family. Everyone says 16 years is an incredible life for a dog, and I know that it is. Selfishly though I wish I could have had another 16. Go and be reunited with your brothers now, and make sure to keep them in line until we are all reunited. Rest now my baby. A quick compilation for my number ones 🥰 also a PSA reminder that dogs are not Christmas gifts… they’re long term gifts. They’re a whole lot of love, and magic, but if you aren’t in it for the long run - find another gift to wrap and put under the tree.
