Proud to announce that The Coquí Sings will have its World Premiere at the 2026 Conch Shell International Film Festival!

This festival holds a special place in my journey. In 2022, Conch Shell awarded @fuegosalsafilm Best Screenplay and gifted me Final Draft 12, screenwriting software that encouraged me to keep writing. And the rest is history.

Four years later, I’m returning with another story rooted in Puerto Rican culture, and I’m especially proud that The Coquí Sings is nominated for Best Animation! Huge congratulations to @angelicaagelviz for helping bring Sandra’s memories and the spirit of the coquí to life. ❤️

A special thank you to my cast and crew for giving their time, talent, and heart to this film, and to the House of Puerto Rico San Diego for opening its doors to us and helping make this story possible.

I received my first avail 🥳. But I had to ask what that was because I didn’t know what it meant…but I do know it was not meant because they admitted me to the damn hospital instead! This is truly the highlight of my film career…so far. Being part of one of the largest projects is something I’m celebrating tonight with the creators, cast, and crew. The first screening sold out within minutes — an incredible moment for all of us.

But don’t worry… I’ve already heard whispers that enough people are asking for tickets that a second screening is on the horizon.

Wherever I am I am ALWAYS ALL THERE (well at least wherever my ADHD hyper focuses me to be lol) Acting has me ALL THERE. I give the utmost respect and honor to the WRITERS. They are truly the absolute genius of any actors careers. Angela does not have Instagram…hopefully yet! Now that I’ve turned 62—the official retirement age 🎉 I see life differently. It’s not about dismissing the past, pretending it didn’t matter, or ignoring it altogether. It’s about choosing giving, joy, laughter, health, dance, and the freedom of my inner child to live out loud and more. The past was never meant to harm me. Even though it delayed some passions, it was shaping me, giving me the wisdom and safety I needed to step into my best years yet.

This month, though challenging and successful, the exhaustion was real. Long hours of work, four filming projects to memorize and bring to life, two podcast episodes taped, three weeks of showcase preparation, and the welcomed networking with my tribe—all of it weighed heavy, physically and mentally. Yet none of it outweighed the LOVE I carry for the journey of living itself. Still, I desperately needed a spark in my step today. And in one moment, salsa music lifted me out of the fatigue. I was drained, almost empty, when I thought: Wait… I need my salsa 🇵🇷. It gave me a jolt that caffeine could never compete with. As always, the rhythm restored my energy, my spirit, my stride—and I was ready to greet my last client of the day.

So here I am, dancing—and in that rhythm, I see the heart of the young girl I once was. At 62, I may move a little slower, and it may take me longer to grasp the technology of today, but you know the saying: I wish I were younger and knew what I know now. The truth is, it’s not about letting go of our youthful spirit. If you’re fortunate enough to live your childhood passions, you should never surrender them. I’m embracing every moment more fully than ever, with joy, with freedom, and with peace. ☮️✌🏼✌🏽✌🏾✌🏿☮️ by @lisaginel

It’s not quite over… one more night of sleep before the last sunrise of the year. Tomorrow we wake in the same week of a new day, a new month, a NEW YEAR!

🌙 I carry gratitude for every moment of 2025-the laughter, the reminders to stay on course, the lessons, the love. I’ll be ALL THERE tomorrow, honoring family, and friends who are no longer here, knowing they’d be cheering life on. Some realities will never make sense, but trust and acceptance keep us moving forward.

💫 This was the first year I chose happiness consciously and now I crave more. More joy. More laughter. More LIFE. Like any addict of life’s light, joy, inspiration and rewards, I say: I want some more.

Here’s to stepping into 2026 with open arms, grateful hearts, and energy that refuses to dim. by @lisaginel

Sometimes projects are never heard from again. I always hope they do well, because they ALL deserve to be seen. I will forever say, acting is such an innate passion for me, but I APPLAUD the writers!!!! They are the ENTIRE film! by @lisaginel
